About me and my therapy practice
I know therapy can help because it helped me. The key, I believe, is to find the right therapist for you, at the right time. I offer an initial 25-minute call to try and figure this out.
It might also help to explain a little bit here how I work in our sessions. Initially, for me, it is very much about listening to you. Understand how you perceive your world, your internal processes, and experiences. I am comfortable and confident with most topics and issues and if for any reason I am not, I will let you know, and together we can find alternatives.
It is important to say too that each client is different and unique and so is the way we might work in collaboration. For instance, you might just need a space to talk things through and reflect on your options and direction or you might want to focus on solutions to a particular topic/issue or you might wish to heal and integrate past experiences/traumas in a safe and supportive way.
The way the sessions evolve, usually also offers an opportunity to reflect and explore what is right and important to you. I find that often we want a break from what is burdensome, but we might be unsure/afraid to consider what we would like to have/achieve instead. It is often a surprise when allowing time and space to reflect and give a voice to the different parts inside us. An idea, insight, direction, a renewed strength by empowering our own experiences is often found.
I do work from a perspective that challenges, struggles, difficulties, suffering and pain can also be perceived as an opportunity for integration and growth. I would be honoured, if we match well, and decide to undertake such collaboration together, however few, or very many sessions we might decide to have.
