I offer daytime appointments Monday to Friday 9am to 6pm with some evening appointments available.

About me and my therapy practice
In a busy, noisy world I will truly hear you.
Life can be a tough journey at times and it can seem even worse when you feel that you are walking alone. I would like to share that journey with you. I can offer you a safe therapeutic space to explore those aspects of your life that are troubling you, to reflect on your feelings and to consider the changes you may want to make.
I will work with you with empathy and acceptance and from a non-judgemental approach. The relationship we build together is key to explore your emotions, your patterns of behaviour and your past experiences.
As a qualified integrative therapist and registered member of the BACP you can be assured that our work will adhere to their ethical framework and that I will maintain confidentiality and high standards of professional conduct. I offer short-term or longer-term therapy, according to your needs.
Before becoming a counsellor, I worked as a primary school teacher and I have also worked with mental health service users, both in the community and in hospital settings. During my training and more recently, I have been working with a leading bereavement charity supporting bereaved adults and in a primary school working with a national charity supporting young children through play therapy. I work with adults, young people and children. I also undertake regular continuous professional development to develop my knowledge and skills.
As an integrative therapist I draw on many therapeutic models within the context of a strong therapeutic bond and according to your own needs. By working with the psychodynamic model, we will reflect on how your experience of early life determines your relationships and behaviour in the present. I believe that we all have the capacity to grow and to develop our potential when in a safe, non-judgemental environment where we are highly regarded as unique individuals. We will walk side by side in this journey of self-discovery and, by working together, we will have the opportunity to explore how you relate with others and what implications this may have in your life and relationships.
Our sessions will usually be weekly for fifty minutes but there is some scope for flexibility in this, subject to other commitments. As I believe counselling should be available for everyone, I do offer some sessions at concessionary rates, subject to availability and dependent on circumstances. My first sessionOur first session will be a thirty-minute initial assessment, via the telephone. This will be a chance for us to explore whether we can work together and for you to decide if you would like to proceed with counselling at this time. This session will be free of charge.
