About me and my therapy practice
Hello and welcome to my profile. My name is Lucy and I offer a friendly, warm and professional counselling service to emotionally support you to explore your feelings, emotions and awareness which can enable growth and change.
As well as offering general counselling, I have a special interest in working with loss. This can be bereavement, loss of relationship, loss of health, job and loss of freedom. Helping people navigate through their own grief process to get to a more peaceful place.
I provide counselling in a safe, discreet, confidential and non-judgemental space. My aim is for us to build a therapeutic relationship where you feel secure and supported. I will work with you to explore your thoughts, feelings and responses and enable you to realise your own inner resources and acquire a deeper understanding of yourself and your problems.
I am experienced in supporting people with a range of issues, anxiety, depression, confidence issues, bereavement, loss , relationship difficulties, suicidal feelings, breakdown in family relations, domestic abuse and other mental health issues.
I am a trained Psychotherapeutic counsellor, and there are different approaches that I adopt in my practice.
I work in a relational way, treating you as a unique individual with a unique set of circumstances. I aim to take time to really understand your point of view and build a relationship with you.
There are many different types of therapy that inform my work such as Person-Centred, Psychodynamic, Transactional Analysis and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy.
I often work creatively with people as this can be an easier more accessible medium for some people. This can involve working with sand, art, pictures, and imagination and can be very powerful.
I currently offer all sessions remotely either by zoom or telephone. Sessions are 50 minutes long.
My first session
I offer a free initial 20 minute telephone call to get a chance to meet and agree if we feel we can work together.
We would then go on to book our first session which would involve a much more detailed assessment and an opportunity to really explore your goals for therapy.
