About me and my therapy practice

Hello, my name is Lynne and I am a qualified counsellor. It’s normal and healthy to talk to someone if you’re struggling or you need to make sense of how you’re thinking and feeling. Sometimes its easier than talking to a friend or a relative and I offer a space where you can talk about yourself and your life without worrying about the other person.

Taking your first step towards seeing a counsellor takes courage and I hope you find what you need either here or elsewhere.

You may be feeling overwhelmed about life right now, we are all reacting in such different ways. You could be anxious, depressed or having relationship problems; perhaps this was already the case before Lockdown and things have become even more difficult for you.

I’m wondering if you experience things like; Feeling overwhelmed by your thoughts and feelings; Difficulty expressing these to others; Difficulty asking for what you need; Feeling you have no voice; Difficulty saying no and setting healthy boundaries.

Whatever has brought you to this point it’s where you go from here that matters. Together we can talk about what you would like to be different and how I can support you in getting there.

I like to think of therapy as an MOT for your mind; it can bring clarity and understanding that naturally leads to greater self-awareness. It’s the clarity that helps us to see things as they really are and our new found self-awareness that can make lasting changes in our lives.

Face to Face, Online & Telephone Counselling - Short or Long Term

I am now conducting counselling sessions face to face and online via Zoom. Click on my website link to find out more about my practice.

Telephone is a suitable option if you feel uncomfortable with the idea of face to face or video counselling, if you need to walk and talk or for Elder Adults who may not have access to the internet.

Practice description

My approach to counselling is Humanistic and based on the theory of Transactional Analysis with focus on relationships, communication and healing; you are at the heart of this process. The most important relationship you will ever have is with yourself and your emotional well being depends on how you feel about you.

I have always been passionate about helping others and in addition to private practice, provide counselling support in a local GP surgery.

I am committed to offering a confidential and ethical service. I have regular supervision and attend relevant workshops / short courses to support my own knowledge and professional development.

My first session

Our first session gives you an opportunity to meet me and explore the issues you are facing. I believe in the healing power of the relationship so it’s important you feel I am the right fit for you. Why is this relationship so important? Because if you trust me, you can truly be yourself because you're more relaxed, helping you to talk openly about your thoughts, feelings and experiences. Contact me to discuss how therapy can make a positive difference in your life.
