About me and my therapy practice
I support people with a range of issues including relationship difficulties, loss, loneliness, work challenges, issues around identity and transitions in life (such as children leaving home, retirement, post-divorce or break-up, coming out, changing career). Perhaps you have been thinking for a little while that it would be good to talk to someone in a confidential and safe space. We can all have times when we struggle - therapy and counselling do not need to be a last resort.
As a counsellor, I firmly believe that you write your own life story. Sometimes, though, it can feel hard to face things on your own or make sense of the challenges life can present. This is where counselling can help. For me, the most rewarding part of what I do is seeing how counselling can transform someone’s world.
I provide a safe, confidential environment for people to speak, and be heard and valued as an individual. I am non-judgemental, open-minded, kind and compassionate in my approach. I want to hear your story and support you in making sense of yourself and the choices you make.
I appreciate taking the first step and making contact with a counsellor can be daunting. It’s natural to feel uncomfortable or hesitant. You may have additional questions and I am happy to have a chat with you. If I am not right for you, I'm also very happy to speak with you about how you might find a counsellor or therapist for your needs.
Please get in touch for an initial conversation to find out more.
I am LGBTQ+ affirmative.
I hold sessions in-person, by phone, online (Zoom) and walk-and-talk sessions. My therapy room is in Urmston (M41), which is a short walk from Urmston station and I have a room in Sale (M33).
I offer both daytime and evening sessions on Monday, Wednesdays and Thursdays. Daytime sessions cost £50 and evening sessions cost £60.
My main way of working is person-centred, although I am also able to use a range of techniques and approaches. Some examples include coaching, transactional analysis and mindfulness techniques.
In addition to my counselling work, I am an executive coach and psychological wellbeing consultant. I first started coaching in 2009 and have used my skills in a variety of settings. I specialise in supporting professionals who want to flourish – in whatever way that means to them. This typically involves work in understanding yourself, your values, your hopes and aspirations, your unique talents and the internal barriers that may hamper you from being who and how you want to be.
I have two places at a reduced rate for students and trainee counsellors / therapists. Please get in touch for further details. I ask for payment on or before the session by bank transfer.
