About me and my therapy practice

I am a specialist counsellor and work exclusively in supporting people struggling with fertility, pregnancy, and early parenthood. This includes IVF, donor conception, miscarriage, secondary infertility, surrogacy, birth trauma, postnatal depression and postnatal anxiety.

I provide a confidential and therapeutic space for women, men, gender-fluid and non-binary clients in heterosexual or same-sex marriages or relationships, or pursuing single parenting.

To be really heard and seen, and understood - with empathy, with honesty, and without judgement - can be unexpectedly transformative.

I work online with clients from across the UK. I also work in person on Kensington High Street, London W8. My practice is a six-minute walk from High Street Kensington tube station, and a 15-minute walk from Earl’s Court tube station. It is also easily reachable from South Kensington, Chelsea, Holland Park, Notting Hill, Fulham, Putney, and Wimbledon.

I offer both short term and longer term counselling, depending on a client’s preference or needs.

Practice description

I am a registered member of BICA (British Infertility Counselling Association). I trained for five years at Metanoia Institute in London and hold both a Diploma in Person-Centred Psychotherapeutic Counselling and a Postgraduate Diploma in Contemporary Person-Centred Studies.

Prior to setting up my own practice, I worked for four years as a counsellor at City Pregnancy Counselling & Psychotherapy.

It is staggering, the number of people who face difficulty, distress or loss in their effort to have a child. Yet, for each person, it is deeply personal and uniquely encountered. Being able to convey your experience, in a way that feels anywhere near adequate, can seem impossible. It can be uncomfortable, too, sitting with difficult - and often new - feelings, such as anger, envy, injustice, isolation and desperation.

When the next stage of the life you envisioned gets delayed, or becomes ambiguous, your sense of self, identity and purpose can suffer. Having life ‘on hold’, in relation to something so pivotal - and living with uncertainty - can be frightening and frustrating.

I often work with spouses and partners, for whom the anguish of wanting a child is felt no less intensely. That the experience may be different for them, it needn't be any less consuming or overwhelming.
