About me and my therapy practice

Welcome to Grove Counselling

My name is Caroline Misselbrook and I provide face-to-face, short-term or long-term counselling for adults and young people (16+) in Sholing, Southampton and the wider area. Online sessions are available upon request.

My patient, creative and collaborative approach within the counselling room is influenced by my background in art, teaching and workshop facilitation; as I gain a deeper understanding of your experiences, without judgement, we can work together towards making sense of overwhelming or confusing feelings.

Whatever it may be that you wish to explore, I am able to provide a calm and safe space which will allow you to begin this journey of acceptance and greater sensitivity to your intuition at your own pace.

I hold a Level 5 Diploma of Higher Education in Person-Centred Counselling, am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP) and am dedicated to continuous personal and professional learning to inform my practice. I also have Professional Liability Insurance and an Enhanced DBS check.

You can find more information about my experience, fees, the counselling room, legal and ethical aspects and limits to confidentiality on my website but I am always happy to answer any further questions you may have over the phone or via email.

Practice description

Counselling Sessions

If you decide, after our initial 30 minute introductory session, that you would like to go ahead with counselling we would aim to meet once a week, on the same day, at the same time. However if this is not possible then I have some flexibility.

Sessions are paid for via bank transfer 24 hours in advance. Sessions can be cancelled as long as 24 hours notice is given, otherwise the missed session will be charged at the full rate.

Individual 50 minute sessions are charged at £40.

Some concessions may be available on request for those on a low income.

A block of 6 sessions cost £220. If you purchase a block of 6 sessions a discount of £20 is applied.

My Experience

As well as my private practice, have worked as an adult and young person counsellor and group therapy facilitator within local charities that support clients who have wished to explore areas such as: childhood, adolescent and adult trauma, anxiety, depression, intrusive thoughts, domestic abuse, sexual violence, sexuality, gender identity, autism, physical health problems, stress, anger management, boundaries, grief, low self-esteem and relationships.

The Room

The counselling room is a calm and comfortable self-contained space with a bathroom. The space is not wheelchair accessible but there is only one step into the room. Once inside the lighting, heating and seating can be adjusted to suit your needs.

Grove Counselling is located in Sholing, Southampton and has free on-street parking as well as a secure space to store a bike or scooter. There are good bus and train links from the city centre and surrounding areas of Woolston, Hamble, Netley, Bursledon, Weston, Bitterne and wider area. A Voi e-scooter rank is also located at the top of the road.

My first session
