About me and my therapy practice

THERAPY DURING CORONAVIRUS:

In support of government and WHO advice on social distancing and non-essential travel, I'm currently working by remote therapy sessions only - either by video or telephone. Contact me and I'll explain how this works and what your options are.

How I Can Help

There are many reasons why you might be looking for talking therapy. Often the same problems crop up over and over, even if they’ve been tackled before. These patterns are rarely random and I believe that an exploration of their causes can show the way to positive and long-lasting change.

You may not even know what’s wrong, just that something doesn’t feel right, and that you want to look at it.

Perhaps you feel you have no-one you can talk to about these feelings, or that the people close to you wouldn’t understand or be able to help. My professional training, therapeutic and life experience means I am able to offer you an impartial ear, the ability to examine issues from a fresh angle and a calm, neutral and non-judgemental environment.

Practice description

How I Work

My practice is rooted in the humanistic and relational traditions. A humanistic approach emphasises my belief in the intrinsic worth of every human being, and our natural tendency to self-fulfilment, choice and change.

The relational approach underlines the relationship between client and therapist as central to the therapeutic work and focuses on connectedness to others.

About Me

My background is in the creative and media industries. For twenty-five years I worked in music, journalism, design, television and in the digital world. My own experiences with counselling and therapy led to my change of career.

My core training is in Transactional Analysis (TA) and I hold a postgraduate diploma in TA psychotherapeutic counselling.

I work with NHS clients and at a mental health charity and am also in private practice which I run from my home.

Like the majority of therapists, I am in regular professional supervision and strictly adhere to the BACP Ethical Framework which supports the importance I give to safety, confidentiality, respect and equality.
