About me and my therapy practice

I am a BACP registered Counsellor offering face to face and online therapy via Zoom

I work as an Integrative Counsellor; meaning I can offer you different therapy types, dependant on your presenting issue and importantly how you express you would like to work in therapy.

Therapies I am qualified to offer are:
Person Centred, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Transactional Analysis, Psychodynamic, Elements of Hypnosis and Mindfulness.

I am also a qualified Society of NLP Coach offering specific techniques suited to working with; trauma, anxiety, strategies to improve work performance and creating personal happiness & goals.

Work Experience:
I specialise in Trauma, Relational Issues, Anxiety & Depression. I have counselled for Womens Aid with clients suffering Domestic Abuse/ Relational issues & Renew Basildon as a Trauma Therapist.

I am currently employed in counselling at Basildon Mind & a Secondary School in Rayleigh. I work with children 11+, adolescents and adults. I have 2 enhanced DBS.

Practice description

I run a small Private Practice based in Benfleet, Essex.

I have weekly sessions available on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays between 5pm until 8pm. I also have limited appointments available on Saturdays.

I can help clients with a range of difficulties. I am experienced in working with Trauma, Domestic Abuse, Anxiety, Stress, Depression, and Relationship issues . I am experienced in working with children 11+ with a range of issues.

My first session

Your first appointment starts as an assessment to enable me to determine if my therapy is suited to work with your issue. This session also gives you the opportunity to see how I work and decide if you would like to work with me. If you decide we are not the right fit or I determine my therapy is not suited to your issue, I can help match you to a more suitable therapist or connect you to a relevant organisation.

Counselling is all about you the client and my role is to listen and work with you in how you feel comfortable. My clients say that I'm easy to talk to, warm and friendly. I can help you to explore your issues in order to help you gain awareness, insight, understanding, form new goals and/ or potentially gain acceptance of a situation you are struggling with.

Speaking to family/friends about a problem doesn’t always feel appropriate & you might need to talk to someone separate from your personal life. I offer a safe & non judgemental space where you can talk openly about anything.

Counselling with me can be a way of investing in your future because part of how I work looks to provide you with helpful coping strategies you can use for life long after you have finished therapy.
