About me and my therapy practice
Qualified therapist comfortable with difficult life stories & complex family dynamics. I can support you with bereavement, family breakdown, complex trauma, dissociation, and stress.
I am comfortable working with difficult life stories and complex family dynamics. I will listen to you deeply, with curiosity,. Maybe you hide parts of you from others for fear you will be misunderstood. All parts of you are welcome to therapy. I work well with people feel stuck and those who have a hard time identifying how they are feeling. Perhaps you have been told you are 'too much' or 'too sensitive' or find yourself ending up in relationships that become stale or even abusive. Together we will consider what is important to you and thoughtfully explore the story of your life so you can move forward. I support clients who have experienced all manner of emotional distress, e.g.
- Bereavement and loss
- Childhood neglect and abuse
- Sexual assault & Domestic Violence
- Complex Trauma, Dissociation, Derealisation
- Family Breakdown
- Religious Trauma
- Creative blocks
Training and Qualifications
Post Graduate Diploma Psychodynamic Psychotherapeutic Counselling
MA Psychoanalytic Studies
Tavistock NHS Trust Certificate theory and treatment of Trauma
BA (Hons) Therapeutic Psychology
plus additional training in Complex Trauma and Dissociation, sexual abuse, religious trauma and family dynamics.

Practice description
I currently work face to face or online online using Zoom video (meaning you can fit therapy into your life wherever you have access to confidential space, whether that is at home, work or on a quiet walk with the dog).
You may wish to talk about something in your session that is currently happening in your life, your relationships, work, feelings, or dreams. Sessions are yours to explore whatever emerges. The process may find links to your past that illuminate your present. Therapy is a space where you come to understand yourself better.
I trained as a psychodynamic therapist; this means I am alert to possible unconscious processes which manifest in a client’s behaviour. Psychodynamic counselling endeavours to get to the root cause of your problems and address the symptoms and emotions they bring up for you now. It gives you a safe space to consider how formative experiences might be influencing your relating patterns now, giving you opportunities to consider ways to adapt and change.
It is my job to listen and support you whether you bring an issue located in the here and now or rooted in your past.
My first session
The first session is a chance to meet each other and see if you feel we could work together, it is important that you feel safe and comfortable with your therapist. There will be time to ask any questions or concerns you may have. You can then book ongoing sessions if you would like to.
What I can help with
Abuse, Bereavement, Cancer, Chronic fatigue syndrome / ME, Disability, Health related issues, Identity issues, Loss, Menopause, Neurodiversity, Post-traumatic stress, Relationships, Spirituality, Stress, Trauma, Women's issues

Brief therapy, Psychodynamic, Relational
