About me and my therapy practice

I am an integrative counsellor based in Market Harborough in the East Midlands, having trained at the Leicester Centre for Psychodynamic Counselling and Goldsmiths, University of London. I am BACP accredited, which means I have met the BACP's higher standards as an independent, competent and ethical practitioner.

I work with individuals and couples and my focus is to put the client and your needs at the centre of our work together.

For individual therapy, my training is psychodynamic, and as such I take a particular interest in a client’s internal world and how it came to be formed through early experiences and relationships.

When working with couples, my approach is systemic: we look at the context of the relationship, and how the dynamics within it are affecting each individual's emotional needs. We work in a goal-oriented way to try and improve communication and to focus on the aims of each member of the couple.

I work with individuals of any gender, relationship or sexual identity and focus on the therapeutic relationship to provide change for clients, in a safe and non-judgmental environment.

Therapy takes place once a week and is usually open-ended, although I do also offer short-term focused work.

Appointments take place at the same time and on the same day each week and are 50 minutes long (60 or 90 minutes for couples). I offer sessions Monday to Friday. To book an assessment, please email me at thomasin@makepeacehouse.com.

Practice description

I work with individuals and couples, either online or face-to-face at my practice in Market Harborough. My approach is integrative, meaning I work using a number of approaches: psychodynamic, systemic, Human Givens and humanistic, to name but a few.

I work with adult individuals who are struggling with stress, anxiety, depression and/or relationship issues. I also help couples to talk through their problems and focus on next steps and a path forward.

Whatever it is you are struggling with, get in touch today. It's never been more important to talk to someone. I'm most easily reached by email at thomasin@makepeacehouse.com.

My first session

Considering psychotherapy, but unsure what kind of therapist is right for you? I offer an initial assessment meeting to talk through your concerns and goals for therapy. The assessment allows both therapist and client to establish whether we can work together effectively, or whether a different therapist or style of counselling might be more suitable.

Assessment appointments last 50 minutes and cost £30.

I offer clients a safe, welcoming, confidential space where they can be free of judgement. Together, we will explore your experiences, supporting you as you gain insight into your pain and discomfort. By working through past experiences, they can be left behind, so that clients discover their true selves and feel accepted and listened to.
