About me and my therapy practice
As a BACP Psychodynamic Counsellor, I work with adults in a collaborative way to navigate through anxiety, depression, relationship problems and bereavement.
Saying what's on your mind isn't always easy but it can be more achievable with someone who isn't a family member or a friend. During our sessions, you will experience a confidential, non-judgemental place where you can truly be heard and understood. The non-directive nature of our work will enable you to understand what you're experiencing now and explore ways to better cope with life's ups and downs.
By understanding and managing anxieties, clients can feel more peaceful and better able to make decisions. Many clients say that they feel more robust and less overwhelmed when difficulties arise. Counselling can also help people feel more confidence in their relationships and at work by identifying the unwanted obstacles that may be holding them back.
I am a Psychodynamic Counsellor with a background in Psychology and Organisational Change Management. I have a private practice and also work for a reputable Counselling Centre in North London.
I offer 50 minute sessions once a week, ideally at the same time and day each week.
I offer two types of counselling: Open-ended sessions which continue as long as you find them useful and you can end at any time. Alternatively, we can work together on a time-limited basis if you would like to bring a specific goal-oriented issue.
My practice is centred around reliability, confidentiality and ensuring a feeling of compassion.
My first session
Once you get in touch, we have a brief discussion on the phone and can usually organise your first session within a week. Our first session, as with further sessions, will take place on Zoom and last for 50 minutes.
Many clients know why they have decided to come for counselling and explain this in the first session. Some are less certain about what's troubling them and use the first session to start to discover what's beneath the way they're feeling. We also discuss the framework for counselling and what you might be able to expect during the process.
