About me and my therapy practice

🔹 About Me

I’m a qualified psychotherapist and EMDR practitioner specialising in trauma. I offer in-person sessions in Kent (near Orpington and Bromley) and online therapy across the UK. My approach is trauma-informed, supportive, and collaborative — helping you make sense of your experiences, ease distress, and move towards greater clarity, calm, and confidence.

🔹 Areas I Can Help With

My specialism is on trauma:

• Childhood trauma and neglect

• Domestic or sexual abuse

• Narcissistic or coercive relationships

• Medical trauma and accidents

• Workplace bullying or stress

• Financial strain and life transitions

• Disordered eating and body image issues

I also support clients with:

• Anxiety and depression

• Low self-esteem and self-doubt

• Chronic stress and emotional burnout

• Relationship challenges and attachment issues

• Shame, guilt, and emotional overwhelm

🔹 How I Work

I offer a therapeutic space that is warm, steady, and accepting — a space where your story can unfold at your pace. I work from the belief that our symptoms often stem from what’s happened to us, not from something being inherently “wrong” with us.

My goal isn't to tell you what to do, but to support you in reconnecting with your own insight and strength. Through therapy, you can explore what matters most to you, feel more resourced, and begin to create meaningful shifts in your life.

Central to this process is a trusting therapeutic relationship. I aim to meet you with kindness and curiosity, while also offering gentle challenge where needed — always ensuring you feel emotionally safe and respected.

🔹 My Approach

I work integratively, drawing on various styles:

Trauma-Informed – Prioritising safety, regulation and trust

Person-Centred – Valuing your voice and lived experience

Psychodynamic – Exploring past influences on the present

CBT – Helping shift unhelpful thoughts and behaviours

Compassion Focused – Building self-compassion and easing inner criticism

EMDR – Processing trauma using eye movements for healing

🔹 Session Information

Please get in touch for details about my current availability and fee structure. Fees vary depending on the service provided.

Sessions are usually booked for the same time each week and held consistently throughout the duration of therapy.

Therapy is open-ended, meaning there’s no fixed number of sessions. We’ll have regular reviews to reflect on your progress and how the work is going.

🔹 Face-to-Face Therapy

I offer individual sessions at my private practice in Kent, near Orpington and Bromley. I work from a safe, confidential garden office with ample private parking available on site. The practice is easily accessible from nearby areas, including Bromley, Chislehurst, Petts Wood, Beckenham, Sevenoaks, and Tonbridge.

🔹 Online Therapy

In addition to in-person sessions, I provide online therapy to clients across the UK and internationally. I am a Certified Online Counsellor, trained to work safely and effectively in the digital space.

🔹 Additional Information

Please note that I do not offer telephone or text-based sessions.

Cancellation policy: Appointments cancelled or missed within 48 hours of the scheduled session will be charged at the full fee. This ensures fairness, as appointment times are carefully reserved and late cancellations cannot be reallocated.

Fees are reviewed annually.

I am also registered to provide counselling and psychotherapy through a range of private health insurers, including Aviva, AXA, BUPA, Cigna, Vitality, and WPA.

🔹 Professional Standards

I am fully insured (public liability and professional indemnity), hold an Enhanced DBS certificate, and practise in line with the BACP’s ethical framework for counselling and psychotherapy.

🔹 Getting Started

If you're thinking about starting therapy, you're welcome to contact me to explore whether I'm the right fit for you.

I offer a free, no-obligation 30-minute online consultation via Zoom or WhatsApp video. This is an opportunity to talk through what you’re looking for in therapy, ask any questions, and get a feel for how I work. It also gives us both a chance to consider whether working together feels like a good fit.

If we agree to begin working together, I’ll send over all relevant documents before our first session. This includes a therapy agreement, GDPR and privacy information, a client details form, and a short questionnaire.

The agreement outlines practical matters such as confidentiality, how we work safely together, and payment terms. You're welcome to ask questions about any of the documents before starting therapy.

🔹 First Session

In our first full session, you’ll be invited to share more detail about your current difficulties, and we’ll begin identifying your goals or areas of focus.

Sessions are charged at my standard rate, which varies depending on the service provided.

Throughout our work, we’ll hold regular reviews to check in on your progress and ensure the work continues to meet your needs.
