About me and my therapy practice
Hello, I’m Ali. I am a fully qualified counsellor (BA Hons Counselling) and a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).
I understand we are all unique and our lives are a journey of ups and downs. Sometimes we cope and manage, other times it may feel as if life is a bit overwhelming or we feel we have lost our direction. This is when counselling is useful. I will help you to explore yourself and the problems you are experiencing in a comfortable, confidential, non-judgemental space. I have a passion for the work of counselling and love to help people grow to their full potential as well as coping with the immediate problem.
I am an Integrative Counsellor who draws on a variety of counselling approaches, and tailor the sessions to your unique needs.
I specialise in bereavement therapy, but also work with other areas of loss such as job, friendships, retirement, self-confidence etc. Other presenting problems I can help you with are anxiety, depression, trauma, self-esteem, spirituality issues and anger.
If you are a trainee counsellor/psychotherapist I am able to offer you sessions at a reduced rate.
I follow the guidelines and ethics set out by the BACP for good practice.

I work with people of all faiths, cultures, sexual orientations and backgrounds.
I understand making the first step to come to counselling may be difficult. I offer a free 20-30 minute initial consultation which can be in-person, online or by phone. Then you can meet or speak with me, ask any questions you may have and we can look at what brings you to counselling.
My first session
Following the initial consultation, the first session is where we explore what you are struggling with further and what you would like to achieve through counselling. Each session is 50 minutes long.
If you feel now is the time for counselling, please feel free to contact me for your free initial consultation.
