About me and my therapy practice
"You are a living, breathing ‘human becoming’, evolving and discovering your way through life."
Sometimes you fly, sometimes you get stuck. Along the way, you may slip sideways or fall backwards.
Every journey of self-discovery begins with one simple step. However daunting that first step may seem, Counselling & Coaching will support and guide you, from start to finish.
Counselling is to have someone walking side-by-side with you, learning from your past to put you on the right path and navigating the hazards to give you strength and courage to continue your onward journey.
Coaching is to look boldly into the future and design a fulfilling life you can aspire to. A meaningful life that has its foundations in your unique strengths and core values.
ABOUT LUCY
I am fully trained and qualified:
- Counsellor
- Psychotherapist
- Coach
- Yoga Teacher & Therapist
- Meditation Teacher
- Breath-work facilitator
I have over 15 years of experience working privately with clients as a yoga, breath-work and meditation teacher. Working therapeutically with hundreds of clients has taught me one key thing:
“Our bodies are much more than ‘taxis for our brains’. That’s why my personal approach to counselling respects and validates our bodies as much as our minds.”
Specialisms:
While therapy is beneficial for all I have some areas of specialism. These include:
- Bereavement Therapy
- Grief
- PTSD
- Chronic Pain
- Anxiety
- End of life
- Trauma
- Stress
- Depression
- Cancer Treatment
“We are all ultimately searching for health, to feel truly whole.”
I have been awarded a level 7 Post Graduate Diploma in Integrative Counselling & Coaching from the University of East London. This unique, pioneering model takes a fully integrated 360-degree view of every person, seamlessly and progressively exploring their past, present and future dynamics within the therapy space.
Practice description
"By shining a light onto your past, you will better understand the present and feel able to walk more confidently into your future.
It’s important that you feel safe and comfortable, because only then will you feel able to surrender your innermost thoughts, feelings and expressions.
I work from a beautiful, quiet and spacious therapy room, where you will be comfortably seated and ready to talk and explore all dimensions of you. We will start slowly, taking small steps and working at your pace, so you can begin to trust what feels safe, held and manageable.
Over time, I may introduce some breathing or meditation techniques or even suggest we stand up and move around, allowing your body to speak through its own inimitable language, beyond the mind.
“Our bodies are much more than ‘taxis for our brains’. That’s why my personal approach to counselling respects and validates our bodies as much as our minds.”
You will be gently and respectfully guided, from a fully person-centred approach, that welcomes all aspects of you.
A positive, beneficial client-therapist relationship is of paramount importance and if our approach is not the right one for you, I will suggest an alternative path.
"This is your voyage and you are at the centre of it."
My first session
I am happy to offer a FREE 15-minute discovery call. Please email or message me to set up a suitable time.
During our first session, you will be asked to complete an information form which will include some simple boundaries and safety measures as well as questions about your medical history.
Counsellors and psychotherapists are not medically trained and so cannot, and should not, offer any medical advice. Should your form reveal anything that might raise questions or concerns, I will recommend a conversation with your GP before starting therapy.
