About me and my therapy practice
Hi, my name is Jo, I offer a down-to-earth, confidential approach in order to provide you with a space to explore any issue you wish to bring. I work from a person-centered perspective which means I work with the person and not the ‘problem’; that is, supporting you to understand yourself better rather than ‘treating a problem’. A no obligation initial session is offered at a reduced rate (£25) to get to know each other and for you to ask questions before committing further.
Coming for counselling can be a daunting thing to do, but once you are here, it can be a chance to offload; a space to get a different perspective; time to find that strength you might have lost and a place to make choices and decisions with support from someone alongside you. Counselling is not about giving advice or making judgements but about giving time and space for reflection and exploration to validate and make sense of your feelings and experiences. My belief is that when life is overwhelming, therapy can be invaluable and life-changing.
I work with teenagers and students as well as adults of all ages and I am happy to undertake long-term as well as short-term, goal-oriented work. Please see my website for more information!
