Availability

I am available to work face to face with clients during the day and evening on a Wednesday in Stockport and from 5.30pm on Thursday and Friday evenings in Heaton Moor.

I also offer online sessions with flexible availability throughout the week and on a Saturday.

About me and my therapy practice

I am available for both face to face and online sessions.

Both my lovely therapy rooms allow for distancing of more then two metres and full risk assessments have been carried out and will be shared with you as part of the process of keeping us both safe and well.

My hope for us all is that we will flourish in our lives - take the opportunities life presents and live life to the full in whatever way this means for us personally. Sometimes we need some help to flourish, either because we are not sure where we want to be in life, or how to get there. Sometimes due to specific barriers like unhappiness, depression or anxiety we get stuck.

Whether you are aware of a specific problem, or are experiencing general feelings of not being able to move on, dissatisfaction, or would just like some space to explore options, then counselling can be a really positive step forward.

I am a qualified therapeutic counsellor and offer both long and short term therapy for individuals using an integrated approach of Transactional Analysis and Compassion Focussed Therapy. I use my therapeutic skills to help you to develop a deeper understanding of yourself. I will assist you to make the changes you want, in a way that is comfortable for you.

I have been working as a therapist for more than four years, the last two of which have been in private practice.

My background is in social responsibility, professional development, project and event management and hospitality with more than 20 years experience across the private, public and higher education sectors. I have extensive experience of coaching and mentoring in the workplace and helping people to consider their career directions, skills they want to develop and their interpersonal skills.

Practice description

My practice is based in both Stockport and Heaton Moor, as well as being able to cover any location via online therapy.

I work in the centre of Stockport on a Wednesday, with appointments available from early in the morning through to evening. My spacious room is on the sixth floor with lift or stair access and is accessible to those with more limited mobility or wheelchair users. My room is within a very short walk of both bus and train stations as well as nearby to public car parking.

I also work at the South Manchester Centre for Psychotherapy (SMCP) in Heaton Moor, Stockport, where I currently see clients on a Thursday and Friday evening from 5.30pm. SMCP is very easy to get to from the Stockport and Manchester areas, with local parking available, bus services on the doorstep and is a 10 minute walk from Heaton Chapel train station.

Counselling and psychotherapy is non-directive, I would not give you advice or tell you what to do. But I do offer a safe confidential space and the skills to help you explore what is going on for you, understand where issues come from, consider what you may want to change and how to implement these changes.

Both my rooms offer enough space for distancing of over two metres, and they are fully aired and cleaned between every client session.
