About me and my therapy practice

Hi, I'm Sam. I know that every client is unique, and my integrative training allows me to tailor therapy to your needs, whether that is healing depression or anxiety, improving relationships, recovering from trauma or for personal development. I value honesty, warmth, humour, professionalism and respect for self and other. I've been a practising therapist for 20 years and I take pride in offering a high-quality, affordable and research-informed psychotherapy service.

Perhaps you have a specific problem or issue that wants attention, or a more general sense of unease or dissatisfaction with your life? You may feel in distress, overwhelmed by feelings, or as if life ‘isn’t working’. Problems may be showing up in your personal relationships, at home or at work, in changes of mood or outbursts of anger. You may also be experiencing physical symptoms such as: tiredness; disturbed sleep; eating problems; increasing your use of drugs or alcohol to cope.

Psychotherapy or counselling offers you a safe, confidential space where you will be listened to carefully and without judgement. I’m authentic, warm and engaged. I won’t tell you what to do but I don’t just sit back and listen. We'll have a lively, interactive conversation paying equal attention to your thoughts, feelings and body sensations. Making sure that you feel safe and at ease first, we'll cut through the chat to get to the heart of underlying emotions that block you from living your best life. Research has shown that what makes therapy successful is the ability to do this—but don’t worry if that sounds alien or uncomfortable, because it’s a skill that you can learn with me.

My goal is to help you feel better, whatever that means for you. Brain science confirms that we are wired to heal, we just can't do that on our own. With the support of an attuned therapist you can feel happier, healthier, more connected to others and more effective in your work.

Practice description

I am a trans-affirmative therapist who welcomes and supports clients of all gender identities, sexual orientations, and relationship styles. My practice is firmly opposed to conversion therapy in any form.
