About me and my therapy practice
I offer safe and confidential professional counselling to support you with your life's challenges and help you make sense of the things you may be feeling lost with - the things that matter to you.
I have been working as a humanistic integrative counsellor/psychotherapist since 2005. We will work at a pace that is determined by you to help you begin to feel more in control and comfortable about whatever situation or difficulty is challenging you - whether that is something that happened, is happening, or is something that you are worried or anxious about that might happen.
I offer long and short term work, and use a solution focussed, coaching style incorporating mindfulness techniques, CBT, creativity, and the natural environment, as well as traditional talking therapy. I work with children and young people, adults and families in both private practice and the public sector.
I work with individuals, families, children and young people in person or online. I am also a partnership therapist for The Living Tree - a local support group for people affected by cancer, their families and carers.
I have previously worked as a supervisor with Macmillan and as a counsellor with Relate. Several years ago I set up and managed a busy counselling service in a Bristol secondary school.
I am a sensitive and compassionate person, and I am passionate about and committed to enabling people achieve their best through developing a more positive relationship with themselves and other people in their lives.
In addition to my formal qualifications I have attended many professional training courses in a number of areas including:
mindfulness based stress reduction;
sexual abuse awareness;
child protection and safeguarding;
child development and child psychology;
domestic violence awareness.
All enquiries will be treated in strict confidence.
I hold an Enhanced DBC Certificate.
