About me and my therapy practice
People come to counselling for many different reasons but often because they have had enough of feeling unwanted emotions.
You might be coming with a specific query, like: I want to have a better relationship with my partner / family; I wish I could stop feeling so anxious; Will I ever get over this sense of loss?; I’ve realised I need some help with my anger.
Or you may have an underlying feeling that something isn’t right with you, such as: I don’t know who I am anymore; I’ve realised I’ve been feeling low for some time; I don’t seem to be able to stop thinking about past events and relationships.
I am a qualified person-centred counsellor experienced in supporting adult clients through and after difficult experiences. I can help you with finding a way to develop a sense of identity when you feel lost and assist you in understanding and communicating effectively in your most important relationships.
I have also worked for 30 years in careers coaching in different educational settings, so can encompass broader life issues in our work together. I can give you guidance on aspects of developing your confidence to move forward in your career choices, making sound career decisions based on realistic options, as well as application and interview advice.
Practice description
I am a registered member of the BACP and abide by its guidelines for professional development and supervision, as well as its ethical framework.
