About me and my therapy practice
I am a BACP Accredited counsellor who is committed to working with my clients in a mutual and collaborative way. To help them gain good mental wellbeing, increase self awareness and work towards their desired outcomes. Together we discuss and look at areas such as problem solving, strengths, weaknesses and resources, values, goals and aims, coping strategies and self care.
I provide a non-judgemental and empathetic approach where you can talk in confidence about difficult issues which may be preventing you from getting the most out of your life.
By asking you what you need from therapy, we can look at particular methods that may be helpful in achieving this. We can work together to explore and make sense of unpleasant feelings, thoughts, memories and to develop a greater understanding of yourself.
We will regularly reflect and review on the therapeutic work together.
My experience as a therapist is working for various settings such as the NHS Primary Care, Primary Schools (staff and children) and the voluntary sector. I am qualified in Humanistic Counselling, BA (Hons) and regularly attend courses to keep my counselling practice up to date, these range from The Polyvagal Theory to sleep problems.
