About me and my therapy practice
I am here to support you during difficult times. My counselling room offers a place to explore your problems and the importance of self-worth and self-care. I am a registered anxiety counsellor for Anxiety U.K. and a qualified bereavement counsellor working with loss in its many forms. I hope we will build a trusting relationship to give you the space to heal. I also support people with the pressures of living with ADHD, autism and dyslexia in a neurotypical world. In addition, my practice is a safe space for members of the LGBTQ+ community. For more information, check out my website, www.annalinley.com, or call me to see if I might be the right counsellor for you.
Practice description
My counselling room is a kind and non-judgmental environment where you can talk about your feeling, fears and desires without shame. A place to explore your authentic self in a nurturing environment. Together, I hope we can build on your strengths and expand your understanding of what it is to be you. We will look at what you would like to achieve from counselling and regularly review how the process is progressing for you. You will be in control and I will be by your side.
My first session
Before we meet, I would suggest we have a chat on the phone to see if I am the right person for you to work with at this time. This will give you the opportunity to ask me questions and get an idea if I am someone you will be able to feel comfortable with. If you decide to go on to start working with me face to face, we can use the first session for you to tell me about what you wish to achieve in our time together and we can explore how we will go forward and build our therapeutic relationship.

About me and my therapy practice
I trained as a person-centred therapist, and this way of working is about putting you front and centre of all the work we do together is core to the way I work. My role is to be there by your side as you explore your thoughts and feelings and how they may impact how you experience life. I like to work creatively with clients who are interested in exploring.
Practice description
I believe it is essential that you always feel in control of the therapy work we do together. For each session, you will lead the subject, and we will explore together topics you feel comfortable with. I will not tell you how many sessions you must attend as I believe you are best placed to decide how long we should work together. If you are unable to come for one week, I will try and be as flexible as possible about rearranging sessions provided I have notice I do not charge for cancelled sessions. I understand that life is complicated.
My first session
The first session will typically run for a little longer than usual to let us get to know each other and overcome any initial worries you may have about our first therapy session together. We will generally have covered the more practical things in the initial chat on the phone, so this is the time for you to tell me what you are hoping for in our work together.
