Availability

Please contact me for in-person availability in Budleigh Salterton on Wednesday afternoon, and in Exeter Friday afternoon. I generally also offer Zoom sessions Monday and Tuesday late afternoon or early evening, and Thursday during the day.

About me and my therapy practice

As well as being a qualified counsellor to diploma level and a psychotherapist, I’m also a certified online and telephone counsellor, a bereavement volunteer for Cruse Bereavement Support and a listening volunteer for the Samaritans. My clients are adults, men and women (I particularly welcome older adults) who realise they need support in dealing with a broad range of life challenges such as anxiety, depression, bereavement, low self-esteem, anger, loneliness, work related stress, or dementia.

Practice description

In my work with Mind, Cruse, GP surgeries and the Margaret Jackson Centre in Exeter, I have found a good counsellor-client relationship is core to successful counselling. I therefore place great store by the initial free phone or Zoom meeting as a ‘get to know’ session for both sides, where we will also explore how best I could support you.

I will not claim to cure illness or erase life problems, but I can help you to cope positively with them through exploring different perspectives and developing new insights, enabling you to feel better about yourself and to live with purpose, despite the hardships you face.

If your goal is to live a more satisfying and fulfilling life, largely free from negative feelings, I can assist you.

My first session

I offer a free 20 min 'get to know' session via Zoom or telephone.

This initial session is a 'get to know' session for both you and myself. You will get a sense of how I work and you may ask any questions. You will be asked what brings you to counselling and about the issues you want to work on. You will be asked questions about your personal circumstance for me to make sure I am the right person to help you.
