About me and my therapy practice

I am an experienced Integrative Counsellor and Psychotherapist working from my own private practice in West End, Esher where I offer long or short term work, face to face or online sessions.

The idea of therapy can feel daunting, for many, but my warm, down to earth approach, and peaceful garden setting, aims to rapidly put you at ease and allow for a collaborative exploration of your situation.

I draw from a wide range of models that offer a bespoke way of working. I have extensive experience working with bereavement and loss of various forms, anxiety, depression, anger, demotivation, identity issues, relationship difficulties, physical symptoms, PTSD and trauma.

I undertake regular Continued Personal Development and supervision to maintain a good standard of practice and work in accordance with the BACP’s ethical framework that priorities commitment to confidentiality and respect of my clients’ diverse individual needs.

Practice description

I work holistically with an emphasis on the relationship between mind and body. A mind-body approach helps recalibrate historic patterns and encourages new neural pathways to allow for a deeper level of healing.

My relational, humanistic approach allows for meaning making and moment-to-moment attuning to my client's pace and needs. It's also often helpful to explore how past survival response patterns and experiences can unconsciously drive particular behaviours that can be overwhelming, confusing and impactful on mind-body health and wellbeing.

My core models are Psychodynamic, Person Centred and Existential but I also draw, where appropriate, from a range of  psychobiological models, including Somatic Experiencing, Polyvagal Theory, Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, Neuroscience and Mindfulness-based therapies and EMDR.

My first session

Our first session offers you an opportunity to give an overview of your situation and how it's affecting your life, work and relationships.

We also get a sense of how it feels between us, how we might work together and whether we feel like a good match for each other.

I aim to briefly outline possible ways of working together and welcome questions and preferences for particular approaches.
