About me and my therapy practice
I am an Accredited Counsellor/Therapist registered with the BACP and currently working solely online with clients from any geographical area. I spent the past 30 years living in Scotland. Now I am living in Diss, South Norfolk
I offer long and short-term individual counselling and therapy to adults aged 17 and above. I have experience of working with a wide range of therapy issues such as depression, bereavement, stress, anxiety, relationship difficulties, panic attacks, trauma, sexual abuse, sexuality and many more.
My approach is Person Centred which means that I will listen very carefully to you, offer you unconditional and confidential support, value your experience and use that as the basis of all our work. I will work flexibly in an integrated way to suit your needs.
I offer a free initial 20 minute phone consultation on a no obligation basis.

I am passionate about my counselling work and offer you a confidential, safe, empathic therapeutic relationship where you can develop trust to work with what is causing you difficulty in living. I am an Accredited member of the BACP (British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists) and adhere it's ethical code and supervision requirements as well as being subject to its complaints procedure.
Before retraining as a counsellor/therapist and moving to Glasgow in 2013, I lived on the Isle of Mull for 25 years. Whilst there, I became immersed in the community. I taught music in schools, ran my own bed and breakfast and self catering business, brought up my daughter, and latterly became a business manager of a social enterprise. I was born and brought up in England and at 19 studied performance at a London Music College and then went on to gain a Postgraduate Certificate in Education. I have loved living in Scotland for the past 30 years. Now I am continuing to develop my counselling practice by moving to South Norfolk.
My first session
First sessions are the first step in getting to know each other. We will go at the pace that works for you and there are no rules. Everyone is different and what you want to work with in the sessions will emerge through our conversations.
I will have sent Zoom connection email and we will have found a mutual time for the hour session. You will click on your Zoom link at the beginning of the session.
Specifically in the first session I will outline the contract and guidelines that I work within so that you can be clear on how things work. I will also be supporting you to say why you are coming to counselling and what you are hoping to gain from the sessions. I will be interested to know anything you would like to say about how you want the sessions to go and perhaps the number of sessions you have in mind.
This will help me to work in the way that suits you best. Sometimes its hard to know quite what is the problem right at the start, how you want to work or how many sessions you want and that is fine as well.
We take the first step and go from there.
