About me and my therapy practice

My particular areas of focus are anxiety, low self-esteem, and self-criticism, including how these affect the way people relate to others and to themselves. I also work with women who feel like they have lost themselves, including those going through the emotional and psychological changes of perimenopause and menopause.

Many of the people I work with are managing well on the outside, holding down jobs, caring for others, keeping things together. But underneath, they're anxious, hard on themselves, and often feel low, numb, or unable to enjoy things in the way they used to.

Therapy offers a space to understand what has shaped your experience and how you might respond to life differently. I don't offer a fixed programme, rather I work with you as an individual and adjust my approach depending on what you bring.

I am primarily a relational therapist, drawing on Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT) and elements of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). From Autumn 2026 I will also be offering EMDR, an evidence-based approach for processing distressing experiences, having completed my accredited training.

If you're struggling with difficult feelings or feel unable to live your life the way you want to, get in touch to arrange an informal telephone conversation.

I work with recognised health insurers, including AXA Health, Aviva, Vitality, and WPA.

Practice description

I'm a BACP-accredited psychotherapist working with adults online and in-person at Margaret House, Roundhay, Leeds LS8 1EP.

I work with recognised health insurers, including AXA Health, Aviva, Vitality, and WPA.

If using health insurance, I’ll invoice your insurer at their approved schedule once pre-authorised.

My first session

I recommend we have a brief, initial (free) telephone chat and then, if you decide you want to, we will arrange an assessment session. This gives me the opportunity to see if I am the right person for you and gives you a feel for what working with me would be like.
