About me and my therapy practice
Asking for help is the first step to counselling and often the hardest. It can be very daunting however, very rewarding. You will always be greeted with a warm welcome.
I am currently working face to face in a covid safe environment where I have a screen protecting both myself and you at all times. My therapy room is a purpose built room in my garden which is fully heated and offers a calm and secure space to allow free speech and a listening ear. Confidentiality is of utmost importance so this room lends itself to this due to it having its own entrance and it is away from other buildings and houses.
I also offer both telephone and internet sessions as an alternative for people who may need to shield or have mobility issues etc. I use skype and zoom for the video sessions.
I am a qualified and experienced Integrative Counsellor and Psychotherapist (Level 6). I provide a confidential and professional one to one counselling service for adults, young people and children over the age of 11 years. I work using a dual approach by helping you to manage your day to day difficulties by finding coping strategies that will assist you between sessions and after therapy ends. I also work deeper to identify the issues that are contributing to these problems and help you learn to notice triggers that you are holding you back.
I have been working as an outreach counsellor for a cancer charity for three years so I have a vast knowledge surrounding bereavement and loss.
I have had my own private practice for over a year and during this time I have committed to CPD hours in CBT, Trauma, Neurobiology and working with children.
Being an Integrative counselling means I can utilise different skill sets from many different approaches to counselling such as Humanistic, Person-centred, CBT and Gestalt. The advantage to this is that I do not just work using one modality of counselling meaning I can be more flexible in helping you reach your goals.
