About me and my therapy practice

Asking for help is the first step to counselling and often the hardest. It can be very daunting however, very rewarding.  You will always be greeted with a warm welcome.

I am currently working face to face and I offer both telephone and internet sessions as an alternative for people who live outside my local area or who would prefer to do it from home. I use skype and zoom for the video sessions.

I am a qualified and experienced Integrative Counsellor and Psychotherapist.  I provide a confidential and professional one to one counselling service for adults, young people and children over the age of 11 years. I also work with and offer support to couples.

I work using a dual approach by helping you to manage your day to day difficulties by finding coping strategies that will assist you between sessions and after therapy ends. I also work deeper to identify the issues that are contributing to these problems and help you learn to notice triggers that you are holding you back.

I offer support in many areas such as depression, anxiety, work related stress, relationship problems, grief and loss and many more.

I have an extensive knowledge of the LGBTQ+ community and provide a safe and confidential space for any issues surrounding this to be explored.

Practice description

I run my own private practice and during this time I have committed to CPD hours in CBT, Trauma, Neurobiology and working with children.

Being an Integrative counselling means I can utilise different skill sets from many different  approaches to counselling such as Humanistic, Person-centred, CBT and Gestalt. The advantage to this is that I do not just work using one modality of counselling meaning I can be more flexible in helping you reach your goals.

My first session

The first session will be to determine how the therapeutic relationship will work between us and to make sure you are comfortable working with me. I believe a really important part of counselling is the rapport between us. We will look at your presenting issue and find ways in which we can work on this together.
