About me and my therapy practice

I am both a Person-Centred and Gestalt counsellor. I am also a Mindfulness Instructor.

I offer one-to-one counselling to adults. I work with people who might be struggling with their relationships, or with anxiety, depression, covid-related issues, climate-change issues, trouble at work, with training, eating disorders, decision making, mood, abuse, loneliness or loss. Or any combination of the latter...

Practice description

I offer one-to-one counselling in person at North London Therapy Rooms in London NW5, or online with Zoom, or by phone with video access via Facetime or Whatsapp.

I provide a safe space to explore what you bring in any number of ways. Gestalt is a highly experimental approach. We may agree to meet outdoors in a park, for example. We may use role play, or writing in our sessions. Or Mindfulness.  And of course we may simply talk. Though our orientation will be on the present moment we will explore the past and the future as much as we need to make sense of where you are now. Person Centred is a highly affirming, warm, non-judgemental approach. Our objectives might include you regaining a sense of ease, resilience, and agency in your life. Self-forgiveness. A stronger capacity to trust yourself. You might need time to recover from a tough blow, to feel heard, to feel that you are enough, or that you are not too much, to regain some emotional balance. You might not know what you need, but know something really isn't working for you. 

Whatever brings you and unfolds for you at our sessions will be our focus, and together we will embark on your journey to a better place.

My first session

Our first voice to voice contact will be a free phone call of up to half an hour. It's up to you if you would like this call to have a visual element.  We'll just spend the time getting to know each other a bit. You can ask any questions that may have arisen from reading my profile here. I will ask you some questions too. We'll be finding out if we are a good fit. 

If and when we agree by email or phone to meet for our first 50 minute session I will send you confirmation of our first meeting and a brief information sheet to fill out. Also, a contract about confidentiality, my cancellation policy, payment methods, and our agreed duration of working together unless we have agreed on open-ended. 

When we arrive in the 'room' together (be it on Zoom, Facetime or in Person) we will have the admin and logistics sorted - unless there are further questions or concerns you may have about the contract...
