About me and my therapy practice
Hi there and thank you for visiting my Supervision profile.
I aim to provide you with a supportive, collaborative and consultative space, so that you can reflect and grow confidently within your clinical practice.
Experience
I originally worked as an external supervisor for the University of St Mark and St John in 2008 supporting students through Masters Level Youth and Community training.
I moved into therapeutic roles in 2009 and qualified as an integrative counsellor in 2014.
I have extensive experience of working in a range of settings including:
- Adult mental health/therapy organisations (including IAPT services)
- Digital/Online Mental Health services for young people and adults
- Schools & Further Education
- Young people's Mental Health/Counselling services.
- Sexual health & Drug and Alcohol charities
- Sexual/Domestic abuse/Violence services
I am sensitive to the systemic aspects and complexities of working with safeguarding and risk through my work with vulnerable adults and young people in frontline organisations.
I provide supervision to both qualified and student counsellors/psychotherapists and other allied health professionals.
Wherever you are at on your journey, I will tailor supervision to meet your needs and consider the context/modality, level of training and ethical framework in which the work is delivered.
Practice description
I hold a Diploma in Supervision and I integrate a range of models including the Hawkins and Shohet 7-eye model as basis of my approach as it recognises the relational and systemic aspects of supervision, which is particularly helpful lens for those working in and alongside organisations.
The work we do in the caring professions can often be emotionally challenging and your wellbeing is of paramount importance and I aim for supervision to have a relational and restorative function.
I may invite practical, creative and mindfulness activities to help you reflect upon and process the work in a more embodied way.
Our work will be considered within an anti-oppressive framework. This means becoming more aware of our own bias so that we can adapt and attend to the impact of power and difference in the therapeutic relationship.
