I have worked as a Counsellor for the last 15 years and a counselling trainer for the last 5 years.  My training was originally in Person-Centered Counselling and I have since added qualifications in working with young people, play therapy and system practice to this.  I have worked in the mental health in the third sector and in education for the last 20 years and since qualifying as a counsellor have worked as a counsellor in secondary school, college and university contexts.  I have been in private practice for the last 10 years alongside working in these other contexts.  I now only work in private practice and training.

I recently qualified as a Counselling Supervisor and bring my experience as a Counsellor and Trainer to this role.  I am looking forward to working with my counselling colleagues to support you in your work.

About me and my therapy practice

I work collaboratively with both my clients and supervisees and I will work with you to create a safe space where you can get what you need from your supervision sessions;  where you can share both the trials and tribulations of your work, where you can reflect openly and honestly about your work and explore what is going on for you and for your clients.  This will include considering what your development needs are, considering and exploring any perceived, or not yet perceived, blocks and think together about what you and your client's need.  Sometimes as counsellor's we can have confidence blips and I will offer you support and encouragement in these times.  I will also offer you challenges which we can explore together.  I like to work creatively with my clients and bring this creativity to my supervision work.
