About me and my therapy practice
I offer an Initial meeting to prospective supervisee's which is free of charge so that we can both see if we might be able to work well together. I believe that the quality of the relationship between us will be vital to the supervision work we are able to do together. I aim to provide supervision tailored to best meet the needs of each individual supervisee and those of their clients. I strive to provide a supportive, challenging and nurturing environment. Reduced rates are offered for trainees and volunteers.
My first session
There is no charge for the initial session. It serves as a space for prospective Supervisee's and I to have an informal meeting for us both to ask any questions, talk about ourselves and our work and to get a sense of what it might be like to work together. You will probably have an idea of what you are looking for in a Supervisor and I will give you an idea of what your role in the Supervisory process with me might look like.
If we think we might be a good fit we will go ahead and arrange a date for our first session.

About me and my therapy practice

Practice description
I work from a designated room in my own home which is comfortable, confidential and accessible. I follow the code of ethics as laid down by the BACP.
I work collaboratively with people, where your needs, wishes and goals will form the focus of all our work together. I will support and be by your side with any changes you wish to make, because change is hard and maintaining it is even harder. I believe that everyone, no matter what their history or how they present is capable of making changes in their lives for the better. I further believe that the strength of our relationship will be a major contributor to the success of the therapy. I will be honest with you and treat you with the dignity I believe everyone deserves and you will not be judged by me.
My first session
I prefer to give people the chance to talk to me over the phone for a short while to see if they feel comfortable speaking with me prior to going ahead and booking a session. Following this I will send emailed information giving details about what to expect if they enter into therapy with me. We will have already agreed session time and fees.
i don't do a formal assessment. In my experience people tell me what they want me to know about them when they are ready. I am then free to listen to listen to whatever you want to say in the hour we have to work together. Some people talk a lot and others may find themself struggling to say anything at all. Whichever way you are is fine by me. It can take a while for trust to build especially if your trust has been betrayed in the past. I will ask questioned in order to to clarify my understanding of what you have said. You can ask me any questions you want to and I will answer if I can.
Towards the end of the session I will check out with you how you are feeling having shared the hour with me and if you want to book any more sessions, but you don't have to let me know then and there.
