About me and my therapy practice

'I provide, safe and ethical supervision, either face-face, online, or telephone, to diverse counsellors, or counsellors in training. I have over 9 years post qualifying experience as a Humanistic counsellor, and have worked in a variety of settings. I am also a member of the Black, African, and Asian Therapy Network (BAATN), mentoring programme, for counsellors in training, and have supervised diverse individuals from the voluntary, charity, and private sector, as part of my journey.

Supervision is a two way process, ensuring you work safely, and ethically, with your clients, in collaboration, and without judgement. My commitment is that you feel valued, supported, enjoy learning, and grow, in a safe environment, underpinned by BACP's Ethical Framework' and a supervision contract'

Practice description

My name is Theresa, I hold a level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic humanistic counselling, although practice as an integrated counsellor, depending on the needs of the supervisee/trainee counsellor as we are all different. I am also a registered member of BACP, and have nine years post qualifying experience, as a counsellor, hold an OCN certificate in counselling supervision at Level 5, and enjoy working with diverse individuals.

I have approximately 25 years post qualifying experience as a social worker, with children and families and hold a diploma in social work, and a practice teacher award.  I am the founder of BELIVE, a person-centred befriending service for adults, living with a mild-moderate learning disability in Kent and Medway.  I Believe, life is a journey, and life experiences are equally important, as there are times, life events, can impact on our sense of self, identity, and mental health.  How do we look after ourselves, in relation to self-care?  This will also be explored in supervision.

I work within my limits, and If I am unable to support you as a supervisor, I will let you know.

My first session

Our first session, will be getting to know each other, similar to an assessment, and this can be done over the telephone or zoom.  This will be for approximately half an hour free of charge, thereafter supervision, will be one and a half hours in duration, at £65.00, every month.  Please discuss with me, if you are on benefits or a low income, as I could offer a reduced rate.
