About me and my therapy practice

Supervision details

I am a qualified Level 6 Clinical Supervisor with a Diploma in Therapeutic Supervision and an Integrative Counsellor.

I provide supervision to both individuals and groups, working with qualified and trainee counsellors. I support practitioners working with young people, adults, and couples. With over 20 years’ experience in schools, I bring extensive knowledge of working with young people. I have also supervised professionals including teachers, nurses, and others in caring roles, as well as those in business settings who are responsible for supporting staff within a compassionate working environment.

My approach offers practical, ethical, and reflective support to counsellors and support workers in managing their practice. I aim to walk alongside you in your professional journey, offering a safe and supportive space to explore your client work and how it impacts you personally. Together, we will reflect on your feelings within the work, manage caseloads effectively, and address any ethical challenges that arise. My goal is to enhance your confidence, skills, and professional development while maintaining high ethical standards and safe practice.

I believe that consistency and a strong supervisory relationship are central to effective supervision. Finding the right supervisory match is essential. I strive to build an open, honest, and trusting relationship where you feel comfortable and secure.

Effective counselling depends on the emotional wellbeing and development of the counsellor. Supervision provides the opportunity to reflect on your work and your responses to clients, supporting both personal and professional growth.

I have experience across a wide range of therapeutic modalities.

Sessions are available face-to-face or online.

Practice description

How can Counselling help?

At times, we can feel so overwhelmed. with life experiences, leaving us feeling anxious, fearful or hurt. If you are struggling and would like to think and feel differently about your situation, counselling can offer you the space and support to begin working through your difficulties.

Life experiences can trigger strong emotions such as anger, fear, anxiety or deep emotional pain. By talking openly and exploring your individual circumstances in a safe and confidential environment, you can begin to understand these feelings. Talking things through can help make sense of these feelings and understand how past or current experiences may be affecting you now. Simply being heard and understood can begin to reduce the intensity of emotional pain.

I can help you to:

  • Gain clarity about your thoughts, feelings and behaviours, making sense of emotions
  • Better understand patterns that may be keeping you stuck and to understand how past or current experiences may be affecting you
  • Learn healthier ways to manage anxiety, anger, stress, low mood or other overwhelming feelings
  • Identify areas of your life you would like to change or improve by building coping strategies that feel realistic and personal to you.
  • Develop greater self-awareness and self-confidence.

By working together, we can focus on the areas you would like work on, to make meaningful changes. Though better understanding and self-awareness, you can begin to build resilience to move forward. Overtime, this can help you feel more in control, more resilient and better equipped to handle life's challenges.

My first session

What can you expect from your first session?

Your first session is an informal and relaxed opportunity for us to talk about what has brought you to counselling and what you would like to gain from it. It is also a chance for you to decide whether I am the right counsellor for you. Finding someone you feel comfortable with and able to trust is an important part of the counselling process. If you would like to take the first step, please call or email me to arrange an appointment.
