About me and my therapy practice

BACP Senior Accredited with 26 years counselling experience I have been qualified and practising as a Counselling/Psychotherapy Supervisor since 2009. I offer supervision to experienced practitioners and trainees on placements. I work with individuals and groups.

In addition to my supervision work with experienced counsellors and psychotherapists, I have supervised and developed the practice of many counselling students studying on Diploma, Masters, Doctorate and PhD level courses.

I have extensive experience of supervising practitioners who draw upon Person Centred, Humanistic, Integrative and Psychodynamic modalities.

My area of expertise is supervising trainees who integrate Humanistic and Psychodynamic modalities into their own relational model. I am sensitive to the varying demands supervisee’s face on different level courses.

I work as a supervisor with Roehampton University and various colleges delivering the CPCAB Diploma.

I also work as a part time counselling lecturer.

One of the great pleasures of my supervision work is watching people I supervise grow as practitioners, both in relation to their counselling work and, also developing their own confidence and unique ways of working.

Practice description

I offer a free 20 minute phone consultation to discuss working together.

I offer individual Supervision at the rate of £65 per hour for a one hour session. Concessions available.

With supervision groups (up to 5 people) the length of sessions and fee are negotiable so please contact me for a free consultation.

Organisations

I offer supervision to counsellors, mental health workers, pastoral workers etc in organisations such as Schools, 6th form colleges and Further Education Colleges. Also the voluntary and Statutory sectors.

I can provide testimonials for both my individual and organisational supervision work.

My first session

Our first session together is very important establishing how we both wish to contract and set the boundaries for our supervision relationship. This will be probably the first time we have met or spoken so this is a time for us to introduce ourselves.

The strictest confidentiality is of utmost importance, I explain with honesty any limits to confidentiality which all supervisors have to abide to. Essentially the confidentiality I offer is similar to a doctor.

We can look at what you would like to achieve in your supervision and discuss how we can work together to best meet the demands of your practice or training needs. This is also a time for you to ask me any questions relating to how i work, the supervision model I use and to finalise payment details.

With group supervision the issues above will be adjusted to accommodate the needs of whatever the group size (up to 5 people) might be.
