About me and my therapy practice

I offer clinical supervision for counsellors, psychotherapists and professionals working in emotionally demanding roles, including Designated Safeguarding Leads (DSLs), safeguarding teams and those supporting the wellbeing of others. Whether you are newly qualified, an experienced practitioner or working outside of traditional therapy settings, I provide a safe, supportive and reflective space to help you develop your practice while maintaining your own psychological wellbeing.

Practice description

My core training is in Person-Centred Counselling, which means every supervision session is tailored to your individual needs, your professional role and the clients or people you support. I believe that effective supervision is built on trust, openness and collaboration. My role is to create a calm, confidential and non-judgemental environment where you feel able to think freely, explore challenges honestly and celebrate your successes.

Supervision is much more than case management. It is a space to reflect, grow and deepen your understanding of your work. Together we will explore your client work, therapeutic relationships, ethical dilemmas, professional boundaries, risk assessment, safeguarding concerns and your own responses to the work. My aim is to help you feel clearer in your thinking, more confident in your decision-making and better equipped to provide safe, ethical and effective support.

I encourage supervisees to come prepared with cases, themes or questions they would like to explore. Often the moments when we feel stuck are the moments that offer the greatest opportunities for learning and professional development. You do not have to carry that uncertainty alone. We will work collaboratively to make sense of complex situations, identify new perspectives and support your continued growth as a practitioner.

Alongside supporting counsellors and psychotherapists, I also provide reflective supervision for safeguarding professionals and other practitioners working with complex risk, trauma and emotional demands. Supervision offers a protected space to reflect on decision-making, manage the emotional impact of the role and strengthen professional resilience.

My first session

Our first session is an opportunity to get to know one another, discuss your role, experience and expectations of supervision, and ensure we are a good fit. I will provide a supervision agreement, explain how I work and answer any questions you may have. We will regularly review our work together to ensure your supervision continues to meet your professional, ethical and developmental needs.

My goal is for you to leave each supervision session feeling heard, supported, challenged when appropriate, and more confident in both your clinical practice and your professional judgement.

About me and my therapy practice

Hi, I'm Sara, a BACP Accredited Counsellor and IPT UK Accredited Psychotherapist. I provide compassionate, confidential counselling and psychotherapy for adults experiencing anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, grief and loss, stress, relationship difficulties, life transitions and the lasting impact of difficult life experiences.

If you're feeling overwhelmed, stuck, sad or unsure how to move forward, therapy offers a safe space to explore what's happening and understand why you're feeling the way you do. Together we can make sense of your experiences, develop self-compassion and find healthier ways of coping so you can begin to feel more like yourself again.

Practice description

My core training is in Person-Centred Counselling, which means every session is tailored to you as an individual. I believe you are the expert on your own life, and my role is to provide a warm, accepting and non-judgemental space where you feel heard, understood and supported. The therapeutic relationship is built on trust, empathy and genuine understanding, allowing you to explore your thoughts and emotions at your own pace.

Alongside Person-Centred Therapy, I integrate Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT) into my work. Many people find themselves trapped in cycles of self-criticism, shame or feeling "not good enough." Compassion Focused Therapy helps you understand how your brain has adapted to life's challenges and teaches practical ways to develop self-kindness, emotional resilience and confidence. Rather than simply surviving, therapy can help you build the foundations to thrive.

I have over ten years' experience providing counselling and psychotherapy within the NHS, supporting adults with anxiety, depression and emotional difficulties arising from a wide range of life experiences. Working with people from diverse backgrounds has given me extensive experience helping clients navigate bereavement, relationship problems, work-related stress, family issues, low mood, trauma, loss, life transitions and difficulties with self-esteem.

As both a BACP Accredited Counsellor and an IPT UK Accredited Psychotherapist, I am committed to providing therapy that is ethical, evidence-informed and tailored to your individual needs. Whether you're coming to therapy for the first time or returning after previous counselling, my aim is to help you feel safe, understood and supported throughout the process.

My first session

Choosing the right therapist is important, which is why I offer a free 30-minute introductory phone call. This gives you the opportunity to ask questions about counselling, tell me a little about what has brought you to therapy, and decide whether we feel like the right fit to work together.

If you decide to begin therapy, I will send you a pre-therapy questionnaire so I can gain a fuller understanding of your needs, along with my privacy notice and terms and conditions. This helps ensure we begin our work together with clarity and a shared understanding of how therapy will support you.
