About me and my therapy practice

About my supervision practice

I am an experienced counsellor, psychotherapist and clinical supervisor, with over 15 years’ experience working therapeutically and more than 10 years’ experience offering supervision. I provide a reflective, supportive supervision space for trainees, qualified counsellors, psychotherapists and professionals working in helping roles.

My supervision style is collaborative and thoughtful, offering both support and appropriate challenge. I aim to create a space where you feel safe to think openly about your work, develop confidence in your practice and hold the complexities of clinical responsibility.

My approach to supervision

My supervision practice is integrative and relational, informed by psychodynamic and person‑centred thinking. I value supervision as a place to reflect not only on the work with clients, but also on the impact of the work on you as a practitioner.

I pay close attention to ethical practice, safeguarding, boundaries and the wider organisational or systemic contexts you may be working within. Together, we can think about clinical material, professional development, self‑reflection and resilience.

Experience and professional background

Alongside my supervision practice, I hold a senior clinical leadership role and have extensive experience supporting counsellors and supervisors within organisational and school‑based settings. I am a registered member of the BACP and accredited with the UKCP, and I work in line with their Ethical Frameworks. I engage in regular supervision and continuing professional development.

Practice description

I currently offer online supervision via Zoom, with availability on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings. Session length is dependent on your supervision requirements.

I recommend an initial supervision session to give us both the opportunity to see whether working together feels like a good fit. This initial meeting is charged at the same rate as ongoing supervision.

My first session

I recommend beginning with an initial supervision session. This gives us the opportunity to get to know one another and to explore whether working together feels like a good fit.

In this first session, I would be interested in learning more about you as a counsellor or psychotherapist, your theoretical approach, your current practice and contexts of work, and what you are hoping for from your supervision space. We can also think together about how supervision can best support you clinically, ethically and professionally.

About me and my therapy practice

About me

I am an experienced counsellor / psychotherapist with over 15 years’ experience supporting adults with a wide range of emotional and psychological difficulties. I offer a supportive, thoughtful space where we can work together, at your pace, to explore what is happening for you and what you may need.

Many people come to therapy feeling overwhelmed, stuck or unsure where to begin. You may be struggling with anxiety, low mood, relationship difficulties, loss or major life transitions. Whatever brings you, my aim is to offer a calm, compassionate relationship in which you feel heard, respected and understood.

My approach

I work using a relational and integrative approach, informed by psychodynamic and person‑centred principles. I believe meaningful change happens within a safe therapeutic relationship, where difficult feelings can be explored with care and curiosity.

I pay close attention to your individual experiences, relationships and wider context, working in a way that is reflective, boundaried and ethically sound. Therapy is not about being “fixed”, but about gaining greater understanding, self‑compassion and choice.

Experience and professional background

Alongside my clinical work, I hold a senior clinical leadership role and have extensive experience supporting counsellors and clinical supervisors within organisational settings. I am a registered member of the BACP and UCKP and work in line with their Ethical Frameworks. I engage in regular supervision and continuing professional development.

What you can expect

I aim to offer a therapeutic space that feels both warm and containing. I understand that starting therapy can feel daunting, and I am mindful of the courage it takes to reach out. Together, we can think about what you need from therapy and whether I am the right therapist for you.

Practice description

I currently offer online counselling sessions via Zoom, which many people find allows flexibility and comfort, particularly when balancing work or other commitments.

Sessions last 50 minutes and usually have a natural rhythm: a brief check‑in at the beginning, time in the middle for you to bring whatever is most present for you, and a gentle ending where we can reflect on what has felt important.

I always suggest an initial session for anyone getting in touch. This gives us both the opportunity to see how it feels to work together and to consider whether I am the right therapist for you.

If you decide to continue, sessions take place at the same time each week, so please let me know your availability when you make an enquiry.

My first session

I always recommend beginning with an initial session. This gives you the opportunity to meet me, get a sense of how it feels to talk together, and decide whether you would like to continue working with me. The initial session lasts 50 minutes and is charged at the same rate as a standard session.

I understand that choosing a therapist is an important (and sometimes daunting) decision. If you would find it helpful, I am also happy to offer a brief phone or Zoom conversation for any questions that feel easier to talk through than email.

It can be helpful to speak with a few different therapists before making your decision, and I encourage you to choose the person who feels like the best fit for you.
