About me and my therapy practice
I'm an experienced BACP accredited counsellor having been in practice for 30 years. I've also spent many years supporting counsellors within their practice and trainees throughout their training.
Practice description
My whole career has focused on mental health in one way or another. I completed my training as a mental health nurse in 1987 and my counselling training in 1993. I've worked as a counsellor and clinical supervisor in posts within the NHS, colleges, private practice and charitable organisations.
I have been a lecturer in counselling for 25 years and delivered the BACP Approved route to registration.
I also write text books and counselling qualifications.
My appointments are currently offered via Zoom or in person (in Dunoon, Argyll).
My first session
Our first 15 minute introductory session is free of charge and is spent getting to know each other before deciding if we would like to work together.
I offer a concessionary rate of £45 per 60 minute supervision appointment for trainees.

Practice description
I was a full-time lecturer in counselling for 25 years and delivered the BACP Approved route to registration so I have a MEd, TQFE and am registered with the General Teaching Council in addition to my counselling qualifications. I used to deliver the BACP Professional Development Day (PDD) workshop on Suicide and Suicidal Ideation.
I have also written text books, counselling qualifications and was honoured to sit on the QAA panel for writing the counselling benchmark statement in 2022.

I'm currently the Head of Clinical Practice and Safeguarding for a counselling service in Glasgow.
