About me and my therapy practice

Hello, I'm Dee Maddox-Hinton, an accredited and registered counsellor and psychotherapist. I support individuals, couples, groups and families with their mental and emotional health.

With over 15 years assisting a wide range of clients with issues varying from addictions, abuse, anxiety, stress, relationship issues and much more, I can offer CBT alongside a person centred approach.

I have a Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) certificate (formerly known as the CRB certificate). This is produced by the Government when checking criminal records and I can show you the certificate if required.

Appointments can take place face-to-face at my premises where there's ample free parking and a bus stop nearby. Alternatively, telephone, video call or email appointments are available.  I also offer Walking Talking Therapy - where we hold your  session whilst taking a gentle walk in nature.

Concessions for hardships situations can be considered at my discretion. I’m also registered with BUPA, Axa PPP, Aviva Health, Aetna Global, Vitality Health and WPA should you wish to utilise your policy and I’m a registered provider with several Employee Assistance Programmes.

British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) Accredited (MBACP Accred) Counsellor and Psychotherapist (Registered since June 2005)

Counselling usually starts with 50-minute, once or twice weekly sessions and reduces to fortnightly then monthly as progress is being made if so desired. Thereafter three monthly check-ins are also an option, or as and when new challenges arrive.

Dates and times are flexible to meet client's shift-work and family commitments where possible.

Together we’ll explore your feelings and identify ways to let go of those that are holding you back, change the way you feel and take back control of your life to realise your full potential as an individual and within relationships.
