About me and my therapy practice

I am a qualified counsellor, counselling supervisor and a trainer. I  have a busy private practice in Cookham, Berks and also work with a local counselling agency and am the Clinical Director for an  Employee Assistance Programme. Since starting my training in 2001 (person centred counselling and qualifying with an advanced diploma in counselling) I have also achieved a BSc (honours) in reflective therapeutic practice and MA in counselling and psychotherapy. I qualified as a supervisor in 2010 and  I am a senior accredited member of  BACP. About me and my therapy practice

Hello and welcome. Taking the step to seek counselling can feel overwhelming and daunting, but it is also a powerful and important act of self-care. I am a highly experienced, Senior Accredited Person-Centred Counsellor, and I aim to offer you a warm, safe space free from judgement where you can explore whatever is on your mind completely at your own pace.

My practice is rooted in the deep understanding that no one else knows what it is truly like to walk in your shoes. When you are feeling overwhelmed, anxious, or lost, it can be incredibly difficult to see a way forward. In our sessions, I will not diagnose you, judge you, or tell you what to do. Instead, we will look closely at your world together, helping you untangle complex feelings, deepen your self-awareness, and rediscover your trusted direction at a pace that feels safe for you.

With many years of clinical experience, I work deeply and empathically with individuals facing a wide range of life challenges. Whether you are feeling overwhelmed by anxiety, navigating a painful loss, processing past trauma, or feeling stuck, I am here to walk alongside you

Practice description

My practice is built upon the understanding that life can sometimes leave us feeling profoundly lost, overwhelmed, or disconnected from ourselves. I believe that no one else knows what it is truly like to walk in your shoes, and because of this, I do not approach therapy as an "expert" who is here to fix you or tell you how to live your life.Instead, I offer a collaborative partnership. I bring a safe, deeply respectful, and highly confidential environment, and you bring the unique reality of your lived experience.

Together, we will look closely at your world. By exploring your thoughts and feelings without fear of judgement or diagnosis, we can begin to untangle the things that feel heavy, helping you find clarity and a trusted direction forward.

What to Expect in Our Sessions

Therapy with me is entirely collaborative and moves at your own pace. In our sessions, you can expect:

Deep, Attentive Listening: A space where you are truly heard, valued, and accepted exactly as you are today.

No Pressure or Agendas: You decide what we talk about each week. There is no right or wrong way to use your time.

Genuineness and Warmth: I bring my authentic self to our sessions, providing a warm human connection rather than a cold clinical distance.

Exploration of Perspective: We will gently examine the patterns, feelings, and beliefs that might be keeping you stuck, allowing you to see your situation from new angles.

A Safe Environment: Whether we meet in-person, online, or over the phone, the foundational climate of my practice remains the same: safe, confidential, and compassionate.

As a Senior Accredited Counsellor, I uphold the highest standards of safety and professional ethics, ensuring that your well-being is always at the centre of our work together.
