I have contractual work on Wednesday's and Thursday's and supervise outside of those days or in the evening, usually offering one and a half hours of supervision every month.
About me and my therapy practice
I am a Person-centred counsellor and supervisor. I believe a collaborative approach works best to guide and support a supervisee through their work, whilst ensuring a safe and ethical practice. I have good experience of working with students on counselling courses, both as a supervisor and as a counselling tutor and therefore can offer support for this type of learning. My area of expertise is enhanced by working as a schools counsellor for eighteen years. Typically a session would be a collaborative/ interactive exploration of client work with some consultation/direction if needed (with safety of the client in mind), backed up by my many years experience of practice in the counselling field.
Practice description
Dependent on your needs and experience in the profession, we would start by discussing how you work, client base, what type of counselling you are practicing etc. to discover what would work best for you in terms of your practice. My focus is very much based on the therapeutic inter-relationship between client, supervisee and supervisor, whilst offering the same Person-centred conditions of Congruence, Empathy and Unconditional positive regard, for all parties involved. The supervision relationship is reviewed periodically to maintain the quality of the efficiency of the client/counsellor relationship.
My first session
The first session will be an assessment of your needs and a chance to go over and review our contract together. We will look at amount of clients, workplace setting, your area of specialisation, client needs and how the supervision can best help you in your work. I can offer one and a half hour sessions either online or via telephone.
