About me and my therapy practice

I am an accredited BACP counsellor. I have 20+ years experience working with children, young people, adults and family support systems. I qualified from Ulster University in 2002. I gained my Diploma in working therapeutically with Children and young people from University of Nottingham in 2008. I obtained a Diploma in Clinical supervision from Open College Network in 2013.

In my clinical management roles within the charity sector for the past 14+ years I have supported students,  newly qualified, and experienced counsellors.

I am currently a member of BACP CYPF (Child, Young People & Families) division executive committee. I have been invited to speak at several BACP events.

I also offer supervision to anyone in the caring, pastoral, and professional sectors. I work in accordance with BACP ethical guidelines and professional standards for practice. 2

Practice description

My aim is to support and nurture personal and professional growth within the counselling profession. I offer a safe and supportive place for counsellors to gain insight and perspective on their client work. I specialise in child and youth counselling supervision.

I have been fortunate in the opportunities, training and experiences I have had in counselling & clinical management roles in the charity sector over the past 20 years. I have learned from client work and counselling colleagues in the NSPCC, Barnardos, New Life Counselling/Action Mental Health and Relate NI.

I use Hawkins and Shohet's Seven-Eyed Model of Supervision as my supervision framework, integrating elements of Page and Wosket's Cyclical Model of Supervision.

Our first session will be spent going through a supervision contract to ensure we can agree expectations, roles and boundaries. There will not be a fee for this session.
