About me and my therapy practice
I have worked as a Counsellor since qualifying in 2012 in private practice. I worked as Counsellor at Lincoln college for 6 years, 4 of those as the lead Counsellor. I am also a qualified Social worker and Play Therapist.
I work in a holistic manner, I have a great deal of experience and knowledge and this helps me to make a client/supervisee feel comfortable.
I use a lot of art materials and creative things to help my clients/supervisee's reflect on the issues. In my practice I work with Children, young people and adults. A great deal of my practice has been working with Fostering and Adoption and specialising in Attachment, Trauma and dissociation and I am also trained in EMDR and a Foundational Theraplay practitioner.
I am a warm and friendly person and use humour and really enjoy my work.
Practice description
I would like to have a telephone conversation with the Supervisee prior to arranging any Supervision Sessions and I would email them my therapeutic contract for the agreed work, be very clear that this contract is for Supervision and not Counselling. I would also email them a little description about how I work and my video consent form for online working.
I do use drawing and therapeutic tools to help explore any problems arising for the Supervisee, as well as talking.
I always schedule appointments and I would like at least 48 hours notice for any cancellations, or a non attendance charge will be made the Supervision cost.
My first session
I will firstly like a telephone call or Zoom call with a Supervisee. To see if it is a good fit.
The first session would be going through the emailed Therapeutic Supervision Contract, outlining expectations for both of us.
I would need to know if they were a student, which college, university they were attending, which year they were in, who was their contact person for their training.
