About me and my therapy practice
I am a supervisor, former counselling tutor and qualified teacher. My supervisory practice is rooted in a Person-Centred philosophy and informed by Level 7 training in psychological trauma. This includes a particular understanding of vicarious trauma, compassion fatigue and the impact of emotionally demanding work on practitioners.
I aim to support supervisees in developing reflective awareness, ethical practice and professional resilience, alongside cultivating self-respect and sustainable ways of caring for themselves within the realities of therapeutic work. My mindfulness teacher training further informs this aspect of my supervisory practice.
My intention is to co-create a collaborative environment where practitioners, from trainees to experienced therapists, feel able to bring uncertainty, self-doubt, ethical dilemmas and challenges without fear of judgement.
I recognise that client work is shaped by many interacting influences. Cultural, social and political contexts shape both clients' experiences and practitioners' understanding, including the impact of race, ethnicity, culture, gender, sexuality, disability, neurodiversity, class, faith, age and other intersecting identities. I therefore encourage reflection on how power, privilege and marginalisation influence therapeutic relationships and client concerns.
As a former tutor and trainer, I have extensive experience in supporting reflective capacities and the ability to hold multiple perspectives. Though rather than being 'the expert with answers', I seek to cultivate your own inner supervisor.
I am a BACP Accredited counsellor and psychotherapist working with individuals, relationships and young people. I also work creatively, facilitating sand tray and outdoor sessions. I welcome supervisees from diverse backgrounds working across a range of settings and client groups.
Pre-arranged supervision groups welcome. Individual walk-and-talk supervision available on request.
Practice description
I offer clinical supervision to trainees and qualified counsellors-psychotherapists, individually or as a pre-arranged group.
My supervision practice is grounded in the Person-Centred approach whilst drawing upon knowledge of trauma, child development and relational work. I have particular experience working with trauma, adverse childhood experiences, and relationship difficulties.
Alongside private practice, I worked for many years as a counselling tutor and trainer, supporting students from initial training through to qualification. This experience has provided a strong understanding of counsellor development, professional development and the challenges encountered at different stages of practice.
I have extensive experience working with children, young people and adults and welcome supervisees from private practice, educational settings, charities, and on placement. Concessions available.
Supervision includes exploration of client work, safeguarding, ethical decision-making, risk assessment, relational dynamics, diversity and inclusion, practitioner wellbeing, organisational influences and professional development. I encourage reflective enquiry rather than formulaic solutions, identifying that effective practice often emerges through thoughtful exploration of complexity.
My aim is to provide a professionally robust, relational and ethically grounded supervisory space that supports learning, accountability, confidence, ongoing development, and self-care. I believe supervision should help practitioners become increasingly reflective, self-aware and able to trust their own informed professional judgement.

About me and my therapy practice
Welcome. I’m Lindsey, a counsellor and psychotherapist providing a trauma-informed/responsive relationship.
Cultivating body/mind awareness and connection, working with individuals, relationships, couples, supervisees, young people and groups, providing a therapeutic relationship grounded in empathy and genuineness.
In alignment with the person-centred philosophy, I trust that you are the only one who truly knows the way, even if it doesn't feel like it for you. Therefore, I work collaboratively and at your pace to explore thoughts, emotions, responses, relationships, and patterns that can help you better understand yourself and find a clearer, more accurate, empowered perspective.
I also recognise the influence of relationships, and wider cultural, social, and political systems. With an understanding of how adversity, marginalisation, minority stress, loss, and abuses of power affect emotional, physical, and material well-being and our sense of self. Yet I hold hope for authenticity, growth and change.
I qualified as a counsellor in 2015 and as a psychotherapist in 2016. I hold a First-Class BA (Hons) in Person-Centred Counselling & Psychotherapy, a PGCert in Psychological Trauma, and a Diploma in Education. I am also trained in EMDR, Ecotherapy, Couples Counselling, and Clinical Supervision. Young People Counselling Qual June 26.
My continuing professional development includes ecotherapy, polyvagal-informed yoga, and embodied approaches to emotional regulation and awareness. I spent seven years teaching counselling from Levels 2–5 and am currently training with Mindfulness Now as a mindfulness teacher.
I value culturally aware and inclusive therapy, including Gender, Sexual, and Relationship Diversity (GSRD). As someone from a mixed British-Egyptian background, I appreciate the importance of culture, identity, and belonging within the therapeutic process.
Registered with AXA, Bupa, WPA, Aviva, and Allianz for clients using health insurance.

Practice description
You may seek support for many reasons, including anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, burnout, grief, emotional numbness, recurring conflict, disconnection, self-sabotage, and effects of trauma and stress that may include the above, as well as experiencing triggers, overwhelm, intrusive thoughts and disassociation.
Sometimes there is a clear issue to explore; at other times, there may not be.
My presence is grounded in a respectful, empathic, and honest way of being, where I aim to hear you in all that you communicate and, collaboratively, facilitate a safe, deeper, sustainable connection with yourself and your guidance mechanism.
As a trauma-informed practitioner, I work collaboratively and at your pace. I believe that feeling deeply heard and understood can support change, but it also necessitates courage as it may involve exploring difficult emotions or protective patterns that no longer feel sustainable. What it doesn't do is offer quick fixes or promises.
However, with greater awareness, it may become possible to loosen old structures and move towards a more grounded and authentic way of being.
I appreciate context. Relationships, culture, trauma, shame, and wider social systems can affect emotional well-being and identity.
Alongside recognising adversity, I also hold hope for resilience and growth.

Initial Session
I offer an initial session for individuals either in person £30 or free by phone or video call. For couples, the initial session is £35.
If you are planning face-to-face therapy, meeting in person initially can help you become familiar with the therapy space. Sessions take place in a bright yet cosy room on the first floor of Hamble Memorial Hall, which has parking, toilets, and lift access. Please let me know if adjustments are required. Due to fire regulations, the room is currently not fully wheelchair accessible. I also have living plants in the room.
The initial session is an opportunity for you to explore whether therapy with me feels suitable for your needs. If we decide to continue, we can arrange an ongoing day and time for sessions.
Initial / Assessment Costs
Face-to-Face Initial Session — £25–£30 (30 mins)
Walk & Talk Initial Session — £25–£30 (30 mins)
Couples Initial Session — £35 (60 mins)
Zoom or Telephone Initial Session — Free (30 mins)
Planning Therapy
There is no fixed number of sessions, as therapy is individual to each person and circumstance. Some clients prefer shorter-term work, while others benefit from longer-term exploration. If deeper or unexpected material emerges, we may review the pace or focus of therapy to ensure the work remains supportive and safe.
When It May Not Be Appropriate to Continue
There may be situations where it would not be appropriate or ethical for us to work together. This could include dual relationships, ongoing violence within a couple’s relationship, or where specialist or medical support may be more appropriate.
If I feel another practitioner or organisation may better meet your needs, I will discuss this openly and support you in accessing alternative support where possible.
