Practice description
In Supervision we will pay attention to the following 3 aspects of your clinical practice:
DEVELOPMENTAL: Development of supervisee’s practice, skills, knowledge, insight and confidence
STANDARDS COMPLIANCE: Helping the supervisee to ensure their practice is of an appropriate standard, safe, and that key benchmarks are met
SUPPORTIVE: Holding/containing supervisee, giving emotional support and encouragement
In a group practice, we will allocate the time equally among group members, and give space for feedback from each group member as well as myself. Group supervision can be a very rich experience.

About me and my therapy practice
I am a Senior Accredited psychotherapist working with children (10+), adolescents and adults in Sussex, offering a confidential and supportive space to explore emotional and psychological difficulties.
People come to therapy for many reasons. You may be experiencing anxiety, depression, stress, relationship difficulties or emotional overwhelm, or you may feel stuck in patterns that are hard to understand or change.
As a child and adolescent therapist in Sussex, I have experience supporting young people with a range of emotional and developmental difficulties. I offer a space where children and teenagers can explore their thoughts and feelings safely, and I can help with issues around identity, school anxiety, emotional regulation or social challenges.
I have particular experience working with neurodiverse clients, including children, adolescents and adults with ADHD and autism as well as individuals exploring or adjusting to a later diagnosis. I adapt my approach to recognise differences in emotional processing, attention, sensory sensitivity and communication style.
If you are looking for a psychotherapist, child counsellor or teen therapist in Sussex, you are welcome to get in touch to arrange an initial consultation.
Practice description
My work is grounded in psychodynamic psychotherapy and informed by Intensive Short-Term Dynamic Psychotherapy (ISTDP). This involves exploring how past experiences and relationships influence current emotional patterns, while also working directly with anxiety and defensive processes that may contribute to feeling stuck.
I aim to provide a thoughtful, collaborative and non-judgemental therapeutic space, supporting clients to develop greater self-awareness, emotional resilience and more satisfying ways of relating to themselves and others.
I can work long or short term, and usually suggest weekly meetings but fortnightly can also be useful. You might just want a limited number of sessions to explore what's troubling you, or perhaps you are considering longer term therapy to deepen your understanding of your problems and feelings, and make some choices and lasting changes which might improve your quality of life well into the future.
My first session
I can discuss the work with you initially for free in a phone call before a commitment is made.
We can discuss the presenting issue, and get an idea about how many counselling sessions might be necessary.
I will be curious about what brings you to therapy now, when and why your difficulties started and what a successful outcome will look like.
In the first therapy session we will formulate your treatment goals, and start to identify your current problems which are holding you back. I will ask about your family and cultural background, and will be interested in your history, as well as why you have decided to seek help now.
After the first session we will have a better idea about whether short or longer term therapy might be recommended. You will go away from this session with lots to think about and consider. As therapy continues, you will become more aware of your own processes - both those which help you in a healthy way, and those which have been causing you problems. This gives you choices about what you would like to change, and what alternatives there might be for you.
