About me and my therapy practice

I offer clinical supervision to counsellors, coaches and other practitioners in a variety of the helping professions.

As an LGBTQIA-welcoming, fat-positive qualified & accredited counsellor, supervisor and coach, I have special interests and experience in:

BODY SHAME

NARCISSISM

ADHD &/or MENOPAUSE

GENDER IDENTITY

TEENAGERS

FEMALE issues

PARENTING (especially ND and/or trans kids).

I have a wealth of experience with teenagers, parents and schools as having worked in them in various roles for almost 30 years I especially understand the subtle complex nuances of working in an educational setting.

I am a qualified counsellor, supervisor and teacher and I am an accredited member of the BACP and a member of the DfES. I have experience of supervising counsellors, coaches and school staff in private practice, trainee therapists completing their studies, Local Authority staff, as well as teachers and other practitioners who work with young people.

__________

My belief about the purpose of supervision is that it is:

- anything that engages you in the development of your practice and promotes and safeguards the wellbeing of you and your clients

- anything which supports and facilitates your learning, understanding, growth and development as a practitioner

- a collaborative process

——

I am a LGBTQIA-welcoming and HAES-aligned .

I am also an EMPOWERMENT COACH helping women heal from their body-image wounds to find peace in the body they're in.

I am also interested in the Mother-Daughter relationship as I am a M-D COACH and enjoy working with parents of teenagers, as well as adults of all ages.

Practice description

I initially graduated with a degree in music from Cardiff in 1996 followed by teaching training in Bath. After a short career teaching music in both a secondary school and a Young Offenders Institute, I became an Education Welfare Officer supporting families through difficult times which prevented their child from going to school and later co-managed the service. Then, whilst training to become a Counsellor, I managed a Parent Support Advisor Service in Bath & NE Somerset and later managed a schools-based counselling service in South Wales.

I qualified as a Counsellor in 2011 with an MSc in Counselling, qualifying as a Counselling Supervisor in 2014.

I am a Body Empowerment Coach and Mother-Daughter Coach.

I run my private practice from home in person (Bristol) or online.
