About me and my therapy practice

I am a BACP accredited counsellor and clinical supervisor with experience working with adults, children and young people across EAP, NHS contracted, school based and private practice settings.

My approach is integrative and relational, grounded primarily in Emotion-Focused Therapy while also drawing from person-centred, attachment-informed, psychodynamic, Transactional Analysis and CBT perspectives where helpful. I tailor supervision to the individual practitioner, recognising that different therapists process, reflect and work in different ways.

Alongside clinical thinking and ethical practice, I believe it is important to make space for the emotional experience of the work. This may include burnout, self-doubt, relational dynamics, endings, anxiety and the wider emotional labour that can come with therapeutic practice. I believe supervision should support both safe practice and the wellbeing of the practitioner.

I have particular experience within short-term therapy models, school-based counselling and neurodiversity-affirming practice, including supporting autistic adults and young people. I work online across the UK via Microsoft Teams and telephone with qualified counsellors, trainees and practitioners across a range of therapeutic settings.

Practice description

My supervision practice is grounded in warmth, collaboration and reflective thinking. I aim to offer a supportive relationship where you can bring both your client work and yourself, without feeling that you need to have everything figured out before coming to supervision.

The supervisory relationship is something I value deeply. I believe good supervision is built on trust, openness and feeling able to think honestly together, including about the parts of the work that may feel uncertain, emotionally demanding or difficult to hold alone. I also believe it is important to make space for the positives within the work too, and I genuinely enjoy celebrating moments where things feel meaningful, impactful or growthful for both the practitioner and their clients.

I understand that therapeutic work can be meaningful and rewarding, while also sometimes feeling complex or isolating. Because of this, I see supervision as more than case discussion alone. It can also be a place to pause, process, reconnect with yourself as a practitioner and think together about what may be happening within the therapeutic relationship.

I work flexibly around your needs as a supervisee and your way of working. Some supervisees prefer a more reflective and exploratory approach, while others may benefit from more structure, practical thinking or gentle challenge. I value openness within the supervisory relationship and encourage ongoing conversations about what feels supportive, useful and containing for you.

My hope is that supervisees experience me as approachable, grounded and easy to talk to, while also feeling professionally supported within the work we do together.

About me and my therapy practice

I am a BACP-accredited counsellor with experience working with adults and young people (age 12-18) across EAP, NHS-contracted, school-based and private practice settings. I offer online counselling across the UK via Microsoft Teams and telephone.

I understand that reaching out for therapy can sometimes feel like a big step, particularly when you may already be carrying anxiety, overwhelm, self-doubt or emotional exhaustion. Because of this, I aim to offer a therapeutic relationship that feels warm, supportive and genuine, where you can feel able to explore your thoughts, emotions and experiences at a pace that feels right for you.

I have particular experience supporting clients with anxiety, burnout, emotional overwhelm, relational difficulties, self-esteem and neurodiversity-related experiences, including working in a neurodiversity-affirming way with autistic clients and young people.

My approach is integrative and relational, grounded primarily in Emotion-Focused Therapy while also drawing from person-centred, attachment-informed, psychodynamic, Transactional Analysis and CBT perspectives where helpful. I believe therapy is not about applying one approach to every person, and I aim to adapt the work to your individual needs, experiences and way of processing.

Alongside exploring present difficulties, I am interested in how past experiences, relationships and emotional patterns can shape the way we experience ourselves and others. I believe therapy can offer space not only for understanding and reflection, but also for self-compassion, growth and meaningful change over time.

Practice description

My counselling practice is grounded in warmth, collaboration and authenticity. I aim to offer a space where you can feel able to bring the parts of yourself that may feel difficult, uncertain, overwhelmed or stuck, without fear of judgement or pressure to “have it all together.”

I understand that life experiences, relationships and emotional struggles can affect the way we see ourselves and move through the world. Sometimes people come to therapy with a clear understanding of what they want support with, while others may simply know that something does not feel okay. Both are welcome within the work.

I value the therapeutic relationship deeply and believe that feeling safe, understood and able to think openly together is an important part of therapy. I see counselling as a collaborative process, where we can explore your experiences at a pace that feels manageable and supportive for you.

I work flexibly around your individual needs and way of processing. Some clients prefer a more reflective and exploratory space, while others may benefit from more structure, psychoeducation or practical coping strategies alongside emotional exploration. I welcome ongoing conversations about what feels helpful and supportive within therapy.

Alongside supporting clients with anxiety, burnout, emotional overwhelm, self-esteem and relational difficulties, I also work in a neurodiversity-affirming way with neurodivergent clients, including autistic adults and young people.

My hope is that therapy feels like a space where you do not have to carry everything alone.

My first session

The first session is an opportunity for us to begin getting to know each other and to explore what has brought you to therapy at this point in your life. We will talk about what you are hoping for from counselling, any difficulties you are currently experiencing, and any questions or worries you may have about the process.

I understand that starting therapy can feel daunting, so I aim to make the first session feel as comfortable and collaborative as possible. There is no pressure to share everything straight away, and we will move at a pace that feels manageable for you.

I also offer a free 20-minute introductory consultation via Teams or telephone before booking a first session, giving us the opportunity to see whether the therapeutic relationship feels like the right fit for us both
