About me and my therapy practice

I am a private practice humanistic counsellor and educator with over 9 years in practice, and a background in bodywork and healing modalities, for people and animals. I was a Senior Lecturer and module lead at Metanoia Institute where I taught on the BSc (Hons) Humanistic Counselling for seven years (levels 4-6), and taught teachers of counselling and psychotherapy on the PGCertHE (teaching and learning in counselling and psychotherapy) (Level 7). I qualified as a supervisor in May 2026 with an Advanced Certificate in Supervision including online and telephone working.

My humanistic approach combines Person-Centred, TA, and Gestalt modalities within an integrative framework of Clarkson's 5 Relationship Model.

I offer supervision in-room and online. In-room sessions are available close to Surbiton Station (KT6 4QH). In-room sessions are subject to scheduling restrictions which might impact availability. I have substantial experience, with training, in working outdoors an can offer supervision for this mode of delivery. However, my availability for outdoor supervision sessions is currently very limited.

My current private practice also includes work as a therapist in clinical trials exploring the potential for psychoactive (so-called 'psychedelic') substances for treatment resistant mental health conditions (MDD and PTSD), and I can offer supervision to therapists working in legal spaces (e.g. Ketamine clinics or clinical trials). As well as my clinical trial experience, I hold a PGCert Psychedelics from the University of Exeter, and am due to graduate from the MSc of the same in 2027. Please note, I do not accept enquiries for psychedelic assisted therapy, and I will not supervise any substance assisted activities that are not wholly legal in the UK.

Practice description

As a supervisor, my approach is grounded in the Hawkins & Shohet 7-Eyed Model of Supervision, which supports a relational and process-orientated way of exploring your work. For trainees and recently qualified therapists I can offer more of a mentoring style, and I draw on Stoltenberg & McNeill’s Integrated Development Model (IDM), which offers gentle structure and a clear developmental focus. This can be especially helpful if you’re wanting to grow your confidence or competencies in particular areas of practice.

As a BACP accreditation assessor I am well versed in the SCoPEd framework and can use this as a way to help you identify areas for growth needed to move between 'columns' of competency. I particularly enjoy working practitioners building unique integrations of their therapeutic work.

You’re welcome to bring anything connected to your work:

– client material

– personal process impacting client work

– private practice processes and admin

– thoughts about career direction or CPD

– your relationship with the profession

I see supervision as a space where two colleagues come together with the shared aim of supporting the client. It’s a place for honest, congruent exploration without judgment, and for guidance when needed. I bring my background as a counselling lecturer, therapist and assessor into the work, always holding the relationship at the centre.

My first session

If you're interested in working together, I would suggest an initial online meeting where you can ask me questions, tell me a bit about your practice and what you're wanting from supervision, and I can describe a bit more about how I work. I'll also go through key points of my contracts, and together we can see if we might be a good match to work together. We can also talk about scheduling options. There is no fee for this meeting, and it will last up to half an hour.

If we do decide to proceed, I will send you contracts for signing, and an intake form, via my online practice management service.

I offer 60 minute or 90 minute sessions.

60 minutes: £75 online / £95 outdoors or in-room

About me and my therapy practice

I am a Humanistic counsellor BACP (Accred) and clinical supervisor with 7+ years experience training counsellors in Higher Education (to academic level 6). I also trained tutors of counselling and psychotherapy at academic level 7. Until June 2026 I held the post of Senior Lecturer at Metanoia Institute where I was a Module Lead and Primary Tutor, teaching at Levels 4, 6 and 7. I am a BACP Accreditation Assessor (individuals and courses) and bring my deep knowledge of SCoPEd competencies to my training services.

Practice description

I offer individuated, co-constructivist learning environments with careful attention to the balance of emotional and practical support required by students who may be new to either personal development or higher education, or often, both. Students value my supportive style and careful attention to the impact of educational trauma carried by neuro-diverse learners. I seek to make the training environment a reparative experience for such students, while also providing the challenge required to really assess a person's readiness to enter this profession.

Therapist - Kingston upon Thames

Kingston upon Thames KT1
Sessions from £65.00

Features

  • Flexible hours available
  • Concessionary rates

Availability

On Fridays I offer regular set times for online or telephone sessions (£65.00 per session).

On weekdays I offer online or telephone sessions on a flexible / moveable schedule depending on mutual availability ('floating' sessions) (£65.00 per session).

In-room sessions are available near Surbiton Station, please contact me for scheduling possibilities (£75.00 per session).

I offer concessionary rates for counselling and psychotherapy students.

About me and my therapy practice

I work mostly long-term with individuals experiencing difficulties such as anxiety, depression, or the effects of trauma, and people seeking personal growth. I also offer a safe, non-judgemental space for people wishing to explore the impact of expanded or altered states of consciousness. My experience as a therapist working within clinical research informs my understanding of these experiences and the different ways they can affect people.

My approach is Humanistic and draws on Person-Centered, Gestalt, and Transactional Analysis modalities. At the heart of my practice is my belief in the power of the therapeutic relationship. I strive to create a supportive, gender and neuro-affirming space where you can explore whatever you need to, at your own pace, allowing for natural growth and positive change.

I am an experienced counsellor and therapist, with a background that includes seven years as a trainer of humanistic counselling students, as well as training teachers of counselling and psychotherapy. I also bring over 10 years experience as a complementary therapist, specialising in women's health, (now retired). This background continues to inform my understanding of the connection between body and mind.

I am currently undertaking specialist training in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing) and am offering a limited number of EMDR protocol sessions as part of this training. If you think EMDR might be helpful in recovering from a traumatic experience, please get in touch. EMDR is not appropriate for everyone, so I will first assess whether this approach is suitable for you. Where it would be more appropriate, I may recommend or refer you to a fully qualified EMDR practitioner.

I believe that therapy is ultimately a collaborative process. My role is not to tell you who you are or what you should do, but to offer a relationship in which you can explore, understand and perhaps discover new possibilities for yourself, at a pace that feels right for you.

Practice description

I work in private practice based in Kingston and Surbiton (Greater London/Surrey), in-room, via video conferencing, or phone.

Counselling sessions are 50 minutes long, generally weekly (sometimes moving to fortnightly) and I work with adults aged 18 or over. I can offer a dedicated session times on Fridays, or flexible timing on other work days. EMDR reprocessing sessions are 60-90 minutes and may be weekly or more frequently depending on your process.

Online or phone sessions may not be suitable for everyone - we can discuss this on an initial call and see what might work best for you.

In-room sessions might be more beneficial for certain issues, or just for personal preference. In-room sessions are sometimes a requirement for counsellors and psychotherapists in training.

In-room sessions are subject to scheduling restrictions.

Any contracts, any agreements, and any non-contractual obligations arising out of or in connection with my services shall be governed by, and construed in accordance with, English law.

My first session

Initial Call

I offer a free, no-obligation half-hour phone call where you can ask questions, tell me what you'd like me to know, and get an idea of my style and assess my suitability for your needs. I will use this call to assess whether counselling/EMDR with me might be suitably supportive. To help with this, I will ask about your reasons for seeking counselling, any prior experiences with therapy or mental health services, and your support network. I will explain my contractual terms and fees and see if our schedules align. If it seems there is potential for you and I to work well together, we can arrange an initial session. We will also explore which setting would suit you - in-room, online, or telephone.

Agreements

Before we meet, I will send you a link to the BACP Ethical Framework, a counselling agreement (and remote session agreement if relevant), privacy policy and intake form for you to complete and sign via my online practice management service. No printing is required, and alternative formats are available. All information gathered is kept in accordance with Data Protection legislation. This includes your GP and emergency contact details, date of birth, address (if online) and contact details, any relevant medical conditions, medications, and psychological diagnoses. This is to assist me in fulfilling my duty of care and to ensure I can get appropriate help to you in an emergency (even if we only meet once).

Wellbeing Measures

I will send you an online questionnaire to complete before our initial session (called the WHO-5). This has five questions about your wellbeing. This questionnaire can be used periodically to notice changes in your wellbeing, and to help me improve my service. This form is optional.

Initial Session

This is a full counselling session, however I may ask more questions than usual as I try to get to know you better

Towards the end of the session, I will ask how you feel about continuing further. You can take time to think about this.
