About me and my therapy practice
I am an experienced Clinical Supervisor, Counsellor and Trainer with over 16 years’ supporting children, young people, adults and professionals within schools and community settings. My work is grounded in compassion, connection and trauma-informed practice, creating safe, reflective spaces where both clients and practitioners feel heard, supported and understood.
I have worked extensively within schools, where I spent over 14 years managing a school counselling service and supporting young people with a wide range of emotional and mental health needs. I have worked closely with families, safeguarding teams, pastoral staff and external agencies, offering guidance, consultation and therapeutic support in often complex situations.
Alongside my practice, I work as a Trainer and Supervisor for Trauma Informed Schools UK, delivering accredited training to professionals across the UK. I particularly value supporting practitioners to develop confidence, self-awareness and reflective practice in their work with children and young people.
Practice description
My supervision style is warm, collaborative and relational.
I aim to create a supportive space where supervisees can think openly about their work, explore challenges safely, and feel encouraged in both their professional and personal development.
I work with both experienced practitioners and those in training, adapting my approach to the individual needs of each supervisee.
I aim to create a supportive and reflective space where supervision feels beneficial, worthwhile and nurturing of both professional and personal development.

About me and my therapy practice
Please note: I currently do not have capacity for new clients
Hi, I’m Leigh and I’m a Young People's Counsellor with in-depth experience of counselling young people for over 14 years.
When we’re struggling, talking to friends and family can be helpful but it’s hard sometimes to shake off feelings of being judged or thoughts that we’re letting people down. That’s why talking to someone who is separate from your life can be so freeing and helpful.
When we meet, I will be guided by your voice and your experience. I can use different counselling approaches to suit the needs of you, which might include learning practical in-the-moment techniques to manage strong emotions or it could be having an open space to talk and explore the deeper reasons behind things.
In our sessions I will listen carefully, without judgement and I will not tell you what to do. I will help you to work things out for yourself in a way that feels safe and comfortable. Above all else, my most important goal is to connect with and to understand what life is like for you, from your viewpoint and no one else’s.
I know that when I feel understood, I feel more able to cope and better about myself and I will work really hard to achieve this for you in our sessions.
Practice description
I currently work remotely from my home office.
My first session
In your first session we will talk about your reasons for getting in touch and I will ask you some questions to help me understand a bit more about you and what you need. I will explain how I work and answer any questions from you. We will think together about different support options and what might suit you best, whether that be counselling sessions with me or perhaps a different service.
If we both agree that counselling sessions are the right fit for you then we can book in a time together to begin.
This first session is offered at a reduced rate.
