About me and my therapy practice

Clinical supervision - a space just for you, to support clear thinking and a sustainable practice

You want to think clearly about your work – especially when things feel unclear, stuck, or harder than they should.

You want a practice that feels sustainable – financially, emotionally, and in day-to-day reality.

Supervision with me gives you space to do that. I bring honesty, clarity, and a strong ethical lens, alongside a supportive, non-judgemental space where you can be open about what’s working and what isn’t.

I see supervision as part of the core team that supports your work – one of the pillars that helps you practise well, stay grounded, and sustain your practice over time.

Colleagues I’ve worked with often say they leave supervision feeling clearer, more confident in their decisions, and better able to trust their judgement.

Practice description

What you can expect from supervision with me:

  • A supportive, non-judgemental space where you can be yourself and be honest about your work.
  • Clear, grounded thinking to help you make sense of client dynamics.
  • A strong focus on boundaries, ethics, and good practice.
  • Gentle challenge where it’s helpful.
  • Support to develop your clinical judgement and confidence.
  • Space to think about your whole practice, not just individual clients.
  • Supervision with me gives you space to step back and think carefully about your work.

We’ll look together at your client work - what might be happening in the relationship, where things feel stuck, and how to move the work forward. You’ll leave with clearer thinking, more confidence in your decisions, and a stronger sense of direction.

We’ll also look at the wider picture of your practice - boundaries, caseload, pricing, and how your work fits with your life, so you can build something sustainable over time.

We’ll cover the practical side too, including safeguarding and ethical considerations. I bring experience from private practice, the Priory, hospice and college settings, and work integratively across person-centred, psychodynamic and CBT approaches.

I am offering a limited number of reduced-rate supervision spaces while I complete my supervision training. £50 per 90-minute supervision session (until November 2026).

This will suit you if:

  • You want clearer thinking about your client work.
  • You’re open to honest reflection and gentle challenge.
  • You want supervision that adapts to where you are in your practice and your life.
  • You’re building a practice you want to sustain long-term.

If this feels like the right fit, get in touch to arrange a short introductory call.

My first session

We’ll start with a short introductory call to see if we’re a good fit and to talk through what you’re looking for from supervision, and for me to have a clear sense of what support you need.

In the first session, we’ll look at your current work and any areas you want to focus on, and agree how we’ll work together in a way that feels clear and manageable.

You’ll leave with a clear sense of direction and how supervision will support your work.

About me and my therapy practice

Hi, I'm Jo. If you’ve found your way here, you’re ready for change. Something is getting in the way of you living the life you want. It might be difficulties in relationships, difficult experiences holding you back, feeling triggered by specific situations, or a phobia. You’ve done a lot to try and figure it out yourself; now is the right time to reach out for some support.

I help people overcome hurdles which are holding them back. I love seeing my clients feeling more resolved, experiencing more rewarding relationships, feeling free to make the changes and choices they need to, and more able to be present.

Why you might be here

You’re likely someone who has always been pretty self-sufficient, competent, able to manage things, perhaps even a bit of a ‘coper’. Lately, though, you’ve been struggling.

Perhaps you’re having strong reactions to interactions with people, and you know they’re disproprtionate. Maybe you’re repeating the same relationship patterns over and over: struggling to set boundaries in important relationships, to manage conflict, experiencing relationship ‘flare-ups’. Certain things might unexpectedly trigger strong emotions: something on the TV; a throwaway comment; or a song on the radio.

Perhaps you dread specific situations like an upcoming journey, an adult child leaving home, a meeting at work, or even just getting everyone out of the house in the morning. You don’t know why, but these situations feel like they take over. You’re motivated to change things, but a little stuck on how to move forward.

Maybe ‘stuff’ from the past feels like is cropping up and impacting you think, feel and behave: you need to clear it out in order to move forward.

Whatever challenge you are facing, you’re ready to overcome it.

Practice description

I bring together a unique combination of therapy approaches which allows me to adapt to my clients’ needs as therapy progresses. I offer 1:1 integrative therapy, EMDR therapy, and intensive EMDR and integrative therapy sessions.

Integrative therapy. I blend different approaches to adjust to my clients' needs: person centred, psychodynamic and cognitive-behavioural therapy. I am non-judgemental and supportive, and we are curious together to understand what is going on for you, and to find a way forward.

EMDR Therapy was originally developed to work on PTSD and trauma, but has since been shown to be effective for a number of issues, including relationship issues, feeling triggered, phobias, and self-esteem. EMDR is scientifically proven and endorsed by the World Health Organisation, the National Institute for Clinical Excellence, and the NHS.

EMDR intensives are longer sessions of EMDR, usually a few hours each over a few days in the same week. In many cases, a single day of intensive EMDR can achieve the same progress as months of weekly sessions.

Intensive integrative sessions to focus on a specific issue and last 90 minutes. This may be helpful for clients who want to spend more time on a specific topic, or those who want a one-off session to work through something specific.

My first session

There are two main factors that predict success: you, and your relationship with your therapist. I offer a free 15-minute introductory call so that we can explore whether we would be a good fit.

If we decide to work together, we would usually have some sessions understanding the lay of the land: what is going on for you, and what you would like to change. After 2-3 sessions, I will suggest the approach which I think will be most helpful, and check that you are happy with that.
