About me and my therapy practice
As an integrative supervisor, I have a way of practicing that is mainly a Person-Centred approach to developing a deep supervisory relationship, with a restorative supervisory framework and the ability to utilise psychodynamic thinking to deepen self-awareness. In my therapy practice, I have a more pluralistic way of integrating theory in practice and often use felt sense to encourage listening to the body, understanding the mind (Polyvagal Theory) and developing a sense of self that is both authentic and powerful. It would not be unusual for me to utilise creativity or play as a way to access expression of the inner world and often this also deepens the therapeutic relationship. I will bring the whole of me into the supervisory relationship and ask my supervisees to do the same. My main aim is to be an effective, supportive and motivating supervisor. If this way of working appeals to you, I’d love to hear from you.
Practice description
I qualified just over 6 years ago and have been working with clients for over 8 years. I have experience of working with clients from 11 years upwards but primarily work in Sixth Form schools with a small but varied private practice running alongside. I have a lot of experience of working with neurodivergent individuals (either diagnosed or undiagnosed) and individuals who identify as LGBTQI+.
I will always share what I am confident in, respect shared learning and endeavour to improve my own knowledge whenever the opportunity arises. It is not therapy. It is an opportunity to receive support, reassurance, learning, motivation, guidance and containment in a safe and confidential space. I encourage my supervisees to bring all parts of their practice, what is going well but also what brings challenges so that, whether they are newly qualified or experientially wealthy, they can feel confident the supervisory relationship will provide what is necessary to work within their ethical framework and code of practice - building confidence in themselves as practitioners and confidence in the therapeutic process.
My first session
A first session is usually 20-30 minutes online to discover if we are a good match for working together. I will email contractual documentation prior to this meeting, which we will discuss, and hopefully we will be able to ascertain through exploration and initial relationship building the possibility of our moving forward into a supervisory relationship.
If we both choose to continue, we will agree and sign the contract and arrange a time and date to begin. This will enable us to begin with confidence and transparency - a good foundation for building a deep working relationship that can evolve over time into something consistent, reliable, motivating, enhancing, supportive and a place for both of us to learn and grow as therapists, supervisor and supervisee.

About me and my therapy practice
If something’s been sitting heavily with you for a while, if you have thought ‘I don’t know who I am’, ‘I have lost myself’, or ‘I will never feel good enough’ and you’re wondering whether to talk to someone, maybe I can help you.
Everyone struggles at times but if it feels like the end never comes, or your life is continuously one difficulty after another, I offer space to not be alone within that: a place to explore, discover and enhance the skills you have or wish to have in order to connect to yourself and the world you live in. Getting stuck in unhelpful thinking, behaviours and feelings is isolating but I will work with you to bring a sense of fluidity and choice that builds self-confidence and autonomy.
I draw on a range of approaches depending on what’s useful for you: sometimes that means practical, structured work on unhelpful thought patterns; other times it means looking at where certain feeling or reactions first took root; maybe we begin by paying attention to what’s happening in your body, not just your thoughts, since distress often shows up physically before we’ve even named it; or you’re already sensing something that you haven’t fully put into words yet. But before all of this, building a trusting therapeutic relationship where you feel safe enough to talk is imperative.
I work with people aged 11 years and older, of all genders, cultures and backgrounds individually and have spent a lot of my career working alongside parent/carers, young people, and people navigating additional needs perhaps trying to make sense of the systems that weren’t built with them in mind. But for me the most important part of the work is the ability to work together.
Practice description
I work face to face and online using Zoom, with individuals. My job isn’t to fix you. It’s to help you understand yourself well enough that you can start resolving things on your own terms, using whichever of these approaches turns out to be useful for you specifically.
I work with anxiety, depression, gender dysphoria, neurodivergence and generational patterns that show up without an obvious source. If any of that sounds familiar, perhaps we can work together to help you get going on your own path. People rarely fit neatly into these categories, and nor do I expect them to.
My first session
Starting therapy is a big step, and I don’t think you should have to commit to it blind. So, we begin with a free 20-minute zoom / phone call to see if we’re a good fit. You won’t need to go into detail, just give me a sense of what’s going on and from there we decide whether to continue with booking our first therapy session.
The first proper session is really the beginning of building that trusting therapeutic relationship. This may (but not always) also include an assessment of the difficulties being experienced to ensure we can capture as much of those experiences as possible. A brief personal history will be taken in the first session to help contextualise what’s brought you to this moment.
